Steve Doss' presentation

I watched one of the QVC channels online this morning, think it was some kind of fall show. Steve Doss was hosting and I remembered why I used to like watching QVC so much. He explained everything I saw presented, asked real and helpful questions of the vendors, and didn't act like a little boy, as some of the hosts do. It was really an enjoyable experience and, even though I didn't buy anything presented, I sure was interested in some of the items. I've only seen him as a backup to other hosts; nice to see him alone.

Don't you think most of the "old time" hosts were just as nice and informative when they were starting out on QVC. Then popularity and confidence set in and the nonsense starts and doesn't end. Give these new hosts time and some will be the same as the old timers. JMO.

I enjoy Steve, too, but wish DV would stop with the stupid, demeaning nickname. Maybe we should call DV the Know-it-All-About Carbo King. I cringed yesterday when he was eating some dip (I think) from a spatula and then picking the Philly steak sandwich apart to get at the meat and cheese, leaving the bread behind. Sure most of us have done something similar, but we're not on TV. Many of us have lost weight, but don't mention it or preach about it every second.

I think Steve don't mind being called that because otherwise David wouldn't do that. As for his carb eating, most people was worried about him being over weight and David do let the vendors explain because he is curious. Steve is a good host and at times he is just like most host, they all have their days.

The "old time" hosts were like that and didn't change until fairly recently when the powers that be decided they wanted the hosts to be entertainers! I wonder how long it will take before they will change the new people.

I like Steve much better when he is on alone. He gets over powered by his co hosts. Wish they would just get rid of multiple host formats!!!

I agree that Steve shines alone. He's polished and likable. The role he has to play as Big Bite is silly and beneath him. Looks like he's graduating from that nonsense.

@kze - don't kid yourself...... every host is a wanna-be TV personality. This is not a sales role even though it appears that way. If any of these folks wanted to go into sales truely, they would not be in front of a camera.

David wouldn't treat the new guy the way he treats Steve. He is taking advantage of someone he thinks is new and insecure. Shame on David.

He calls Rosina to come and do his tasting, but he treats her respectfully.

Steve Doss literally changed my life for the better when he was presenting TotalGym. He enthusiastically demonstrated laying on it for a good stretch. I have a total gym from QVC so I like to watch the shows for inspiration. I'd never seen the stretch until Steve recommended it. He made it seem luxurious! I tried it, loved it, and now do it multiple times a day. I will forever be grateful to Steve!

My wife and I enjoy Steve's presentations. He is indeed a very talented host. Where has he been lately? I heard the announcement made on ITKWD that Steve was "feeling under the weather", but that was over a week ago. I hope he's okay. And I agree, the whole "Big Bite" routine is getting old, and is demeaning. Steve deserves to be in a role more suited to his high caliber.

Steve was on vacation, then he got sick. He's back now -- had a Philosophy show early this morning.

We enjoy Steve's presentations. He seems to have settled in to a nice rhythm.

We wish DV would start to follow his lead as he has become overbearingly difficult to watch with his immature antics and repetitive "This is....amazing/fantastic/what its all about". Ugh just stop already!

It's beyond time for a changing of the guard, especially since Steve has begun to mimic some of the old guard's goofy phrases.

On the KA presentation, Steve did a "hello friend", complete with the googly eyes when he was about to taste that slow cooker dessert they went gaga over.

We don't need an old guard II.
