So much of what Gary is bringing into the D/C clothing presentations is not summery whatsoever. He's even got a windbreaker on and in dark colors. What gives? Its not October yet, is it? A bit pushy on the next season.

@Elizabeth03. Summer is over where fashion is concerned and they're now showing fall or transitional clothing.

Gary nearly always wears a jacket. Navy blue is seasonless.

It shouldnt be that every item he brings on is dark, long sleeved and fall/winter.

Like it has been said,it is cold in the studio,and fall clothes are out in stores.

Isn't it always this way? Fashion doesn't match the season. It's Back to School in the Northeast. Summer clothes are on clearance and Fall and Christmas is out at Hobby Lobby.

August is right around the corner. I am not looking to buy clothes for now, I am looking toward the next season. Back to school displays, fall decor and fall fashions were on display at retailers in my area on July 5th.

The comments about fashion "seasons" here are on point—but beyond that, some people like to wear long sleeves all year round, regardless of the weather. For example, despite temperatures over 100 for more than two weeks and another full week of that heat underway, my sister has been wearing cardigans and hoodies every day. She likes to be cozy and prefers to wear layers most of the time.

@Elizabeth03 That's the way retail works, and has for as long as I can remember...and I'm 68 years old. Once July 4th is over, summer goes on sale & clearance, and fall clothes show up in the stores.

My dear late mother-in-law was one who never understood this, either--and she worked in a mall for 10+ years! Every. Single. Year. she would start looking for a bathing suit in July...and then complain that everything was "picked over"!

@loriqvc Yes! I always wear some type of hoodie or cardigan when I leave the house. I am always cold inside stores. Heck, I even wear my Berkshire fuzzy cardigan around the house because my husband keeps the A/C so low.

....And try looking for a winter hat or snow boots in January! Pretty much "picked over" by then, and it's the middle of winter.

I start shopping for Spring fashion in February.

That's just the way the fashion industry is.

@loriqvc Everything that everybody is saying is so true. But this year I decided that I am going to try and stay in summer clothes until end of October. After all, how many cardis did we buy or at least I did. LOL. I also am enjoying wearing the summer dresses and shifts this year. I like everybody else keeps a cardi in the car in case I need it. I also wear one when I go out to eat at a restaurant. So I will comtinue. Don't want summer to end.

@Fribwl - I've actually "run hot" since I was a teenager, so even though I have some lovely long-sleeve tops that I enjoy wearing in the fall and winter, I wear short sleeves about 90% of the year and rarely do layers. I live in a state where we have ridiculous snowfall amounts every year and frigid temperatures for about five months, but I haven't owned a true winter coat for years.

As I stated in another post about this same thing is that you know its this time of year that fall & winter items are appearing. I was in Walmart last week and they have fall clothing out. This is the way it works year after year.

If QVC or any retail, still promoted new summer items right now, some posters would be writing in bold, "why still selling summer items now?" "I'm done buying summer clothes!"

Fashion retail launches at least a half season ahead. It's been this way for, forever.

Oh no @Starliteshine not your DH too? And my boss has the AC set so low I have icicles on my nose!

I wear full cardi everywhere I go. Thyroid issues and I am always freezing.

Have 2-3 Berk blankies on every piece of furniture!

On the back of my work chair, 2 sweaters and a shawl for my legs.

To the OP: Having worked in retail...Yes! That's how the selling seasons go and have gone forever!!!
