HP 17 inch laptop - 7/9 TSV

I ordered this laptop on 7/9 and really wanted Winter Lavender.

Customer Service said the color was sold out completely for immediate ship and the 7/21 ship date. I had to order another color. Today, 7/21 I received an email that the laptop in Winter Lavender was in stock. Different item # and $30.00 higher price.

Called Cust. Service and they said it is in stock. Wouldn't let me exchange it due to different item # and higher price. I don't think this was fair. It makes me think they changed the # and price so they could make more money. QVC has really changed. So, anyone that wanted this item in Winter Lavender, it is available at a higher price. Has this happened to anyone?

There have been times when pants in regular and petite had different item numbers and you couldn't exchange one for the other due to the item number difference. So yes, that is QVC poIicy.

@Kachina624- My problem with this is that I was told it would not be available in the Lavender color even if I waited til 7/21. So, I ordered another color to get the price. Now it is available in the color but at a higher price. I didn't ask about exchanging it as I had no intention of sending it back. Cust. Service is the one that told me an exchange couldn't be done. I don't think QVC was being honest about the color no longer being available. They just wanted to make more money. How's your weather doing? I'm in So. Cal. and we're under a heat alert again. Supposed to be over 100 again today. Relentness. Stay safe. I read your posts frequently and enjoy what you have to say.

@WORKING GAL. We've chilled down to 98° today but the 100+ Temps are due back next week. I heard today that meteorologists are saying next year may be worse. I can hardly wait.

@WORKING GAL - It's odd that the item number has changed. Even if it was a TSV and the price increased after that, I've never known them to change the item number. (Doesn't mean it hasn't happened!)

Are you sure it's the exact same configuration? Anything different about the specifications or included accessories?

What are the two item numbers?

Stock might have come back in due to returns or canceled orders. The price would then go back to the original price.

@Venezia- It is the exact configuration as the TSV. Item #'s are

E316389 - # for the orig. TSV that I ordered. #E316386 item # for the Lavender back in stock

Both item numbers say Sold Out.

It's possible that all the quantity that QVC got in for the original TSV at that price was sold out. They will often say "this is all we can get at this price".

When they got more of the same computer configuration back in, it's possible that they had to pay a higher price too. And consequently so did the customer. And the item number changed.

I'm just guessing because I didn't see the presentations.
