New S & H from QVC Weigh In

I think it is okay for customers that rarely return, and a deterrent to those that order just to take a look at, or order multiples intending to choose and return the rest. QVC has raised some prices already, and in my opinion we will generally pay anyway. It is the power of suggestion.

It won't impact me. I don't buy much from Q anymore because most items can be found elsewhere for less money or free shipping, and quite often, free returns.

The one thing that does bug me is why it takes 14-18 days to receive something by standard and free shipping when other retailers can ship it to me in 2-5 ays for free.

I am not sure....I enjoyed that half off s&h when you purchased more then one of the same item....now we don't get that....and in all fairness....the return label should be the same as the label coming to us...

I pay $3.00 shipped to me....but $6.95 plus the $3.00 ..total $9.95 to send it back....purchasing could get pretty expensive....from the Q....if said purchase didn't fit or didn't meet our needs....

I know I will think long and hard before buying....

I seldom shop there and rarely return but I think I've shopped there for the last time. I recognize that stores giving free shipping, free returns have these costs built into their mark-ups, but the notion that some "penalty" will be assessed for returns is extremely off-putting

So now if we buy 3 pair of pants in the same call, the shipping will be 9.00 instead of 6.00 ? Then if we mail something back and use their label (6.95 ??)...Why not 3.00 ?? And even if I pay for postage at the P.O., it may not cost 6.95, but it would be more than 3.00, so its not hard to figure who will be coming out ahead of the game with this "deal".....

When figuring out shipping and if you will save remember that shipping was not $3 before and more like $6.95 or more. So if $6.95 and buying 3 would have ended up with shipping being $13.90 and now you are paying $9 so it's definitely a savings from the old way.

The only thing is if they raise prices on things then there actually will be little to no savings and might end up costing more. Remember when there were complaints about food shipping costs being so high and now there is free shipping but the cost of the items ? That is why I did not complain about the shipping and handling costs before. If they don't raise prices then probably the only ones who will loose out are the habitual returners because for someone who doesn't return much their savings will more than balance out the extra for returning a few things.

I do think though that for exchanges there should be no extra shipping and handling charges and just an even exchange.

I think it will stop a lot of people from buying multiple sizes and returning the ones that don't fit. (If sizing were more consistent, this wouldn't be necessary, by the way!). I don't return much, so it doesn't make a whole lot of difference to me. And as to not reducing the shipping for multiples of the same item, with shipping charges the old way, it's probably still a savings, since so many of the items carried at least a $6.97 shipping charge the old way.

Doesn't affect me in Alaska. I've said in the past that the ONLY way QVC ships to me(by USPS) is off shore non-priority which was about twice the lower 48 rate. I just tried to order V32730 Trolley Dolly. Shows on tv as S&h $5. Well, it showed to me as $19.22 shipping. That makes it almost $50!!!

Haven't tried fashion yet. I hope that rate hasn't gone up for me.

I doubt it will impact me very much since I severely curbed shopping here last year. I used to like Denim & Co tops and jackets until they started hiking up the prices and making everything 'active'.

I may give new Travelon bags a second look (for summer) and will of course, check out American West jewlery and Artisan Crafted silver.

Maybe this impending strategy helped Lisa R in her decision to leave?

Sounds good at first, but when you realize they have jacked up the prices to more than cover the S & H, it loses its luster. I realized this when I looked back at previous orders for the same clothing items. They had gone up in price by over $6. I haven't really researched each and every item, but I have a feeling this has happened pretty much across the board. So in the end......not a great deal with all the other "perks" that were dropped.
