So many QVC products now have those reviews. I personally ignore them as they are always 5 star reviews. I wish QVC wouldn't include them as it skews the stats.

I purchased the Kitchen Aid Burr Grinder and am very happy with it. It is a pleasure to be able to grind my coffee beans without having the grounds all over my kitchen table. I highly recommend it although it is pricey. I do have a question about the reviews, however. Out of 253 reviews there is only one from a QVC customer and I am waiting for my review to be posted. Every single one of the remaining reviews is from Kitchen Aid with the review starting with [This review was collected as part of a promotion]. I would like to know what that means. Were those who participated in the promotion compensated? Did they receive the machine for free and get to keep it after providing feedback? I have seen this done with other products being part of a promotion, but what is showing up under this item is, in my opinion, excessive. Any thoughts?

I would guess those who reviewed this and were part of a promotion are also part of a focus group. I did this for many years for the Orange Glo Company. We were given a product for free and tried it out. We then reported back the pros and cons of the item. Then the company decided if they would put it in mass production, promote, and sell it. I wouldn't read too much into it. As with all things, either you like it or you don't. There's nothing "Misleading" about it.

I noticed that with nationally available products, reveiw counts are misleading.

This is true with KA mixers.

They show, sometimes, thousands of reviews for a mixer. When you open the reviews, only the first few are actual QVC customer purchases, and sadly, many reviews are NOT good.

Particularly interesting are some reviews that say the mixer comes packed in a cardboard box, packed in paper or peanuts, instead of the KA manufacturers box. What is that about? ( can't recall WHICH mixer...may have been the horrible Pro600 bowl lift model that Q sells....)

It leads me to beleive that QVC gets deals on the lesser quality mixers ( and other merchandise with similar high reveiw counts).

Why would the ones sold to QVC customers have poorer reviews, when many of the OTHER reviews are not similar?

O well. It's always been buy at your own risk.

But part of the risk is seeing honest reviews, honest review counts, and honest presentations of the product. I realize they won't tell us the glass bowl is prone to cracking, or that a particular stick vacuum ( shark) won't stand up on it's own ( prone to falling) . Not honest....you have to see reviews or go to thier own sites first.

That glass bowl on the recent QVC 5qt tilt head mixer has terrible reviews on KA's own site, which leads me to beleive Q bought up a ton of the glass bowl iterations, cheaply, and made it a "special" offering.

Not my opinion. See for yourself.

ALWAYS check the written reveiws that are submitted, and make sure as you can you're reading those from QVC customers, because they bought the item from QVC.

I don't care what iterations people buy from OTHER vendors.

In recent years I would almost guarantee you that QVC is selling seconds or lesser quality of Le Creuset cast iron--especially the special deals.

The last (and I do mean LAST) three I got from them were either defective and poorly made or so poorly packet the lid was directly on the pot--nothing in between and banging around the whole shipping journey.

They sell a lot of overstock, outdated model and second quality as the latest and greatest thing now. It didn't used to be that way.

I will never buy le creuset from QVC again. It seemed second rate to other pieces I have from elsewhere, didn't perform as well and the knob to the lid came of after a month.

I looked online specifically for this topic and see that it is being commented on here at the QVC forums. I read the reviews of a product that I want to buy and noticed that page after page of comments were from ‘Influencers’ who were given the product, free. Who wouldn’t praise it when you hope to receive more free products? This is deceitful, deceptive, and outright bribery for a good review, even with the notation that this is a promotional review. I can’t wade through the comments from these shills and will never know what a real QVC customer who paid for the product thinks of it.
I am also not purchasing the product from QVC.

I was hesitant to buy a new KitchenAid because of those promotional reviews.

My last negative IT Cosmetics reviews were burried below new reviews that were copied from IT's website. They were promotional reviews too. I'd prefer to see what the QVC customer thinks.

IMO QVC's review system should be revamped. Some people write reviews even though it's clear they haven't even purchased the item. I don't understand why QVC approves those.

In the past few months, I asked to have one of my QVC product reviews deleted. I've contacted QVC 3 times about that. I posted a positive review and ordered a second item. The second one was not at all what I expected, so I wanted to revise my review. Each time I was told they would delete it, but they didn't. When I posted the review, I had a favorable opinion of the product, and I still like the first item I received. However, the second one was sold as new when it wasn't, and the quality control certainly wasn't there. Based on that experience, I'd like to downgrade my rating. Lesson learned. Now I'm going to wait longer before posting. I thought a month was plenty of time, but I guess it's not.

If I wanted to leave a review on the IT CC Cream I purchased, I can't because it's no longer available with that item number. I guess I could review other item numbers, but if I did, it wouldn't look like it was a verified purchased.
