I am happy to see many new nics in recent days. I think that it is good to keep these boards thriving. My number of posts is not very high, but I have been on the QVC forum from about one year after the start of the first format, 2007 or 2008, approximately. Don't want to see it go.

I don't find it strange at all.

People are upset and when they get upset, they get vocal. They're looking around the site for a place to vent their displeasure and find the forums.

Also, there are several that aren't new but are just now posting for the same reasons.

All that means is that many long time viewers, for the first time, felt strongly enough about an occurrence to finally post. Most people just don't feel the need or have the time to join the forums.

@ollie5 Business here on the boards always picks up during a controversy. People want a forum for expressing opinions and don't want to join Facebook. This would be the logical place to come. Welcome to them. Maybe we'll meet some interesting new people.

Exactly this, @geezerette . I don't find it strange at all either. We all signed up here for one reason or another. I joined many moons ago (back before they started keeping track of posts or dates) because I shopped here a lot then and wanted to talk to others about things happening at the Q. As the years have passed and my shopping has reduced greatly, I don't stop by here every day but only when I have a little time to see what everyone is up to. When I heard about Carolyn and Dan, because I was so disappointed by this news, I had to come see what everyone was saying about it. People are upset and want to talk about it. It's really not all that hard to figure out.

@ollie5, why did YOU initially join?

@Nancy Drew The reason it's not more lively is because we're so limited in what we can discuss. Almost most things in the news, topics of common interest soon become off limits because they MIGHT be ARGUMENTIVE. Even Covid, which has killed over a million Americans, is touchy. Everything about hosts, although true and valid, seems to become unkind to them but they, never to US.

I don't take it to be them. There periodically is an influx of new posters make posts to stir debate never to be heard from again.

I agree @kze that could be it.

I have shopped since CVN but never came to the boards....not a big social media person.

But when I had an issue and was looking to see if others did (a KA attachment that was a GWP was 12 wks and still missing)....I finally came to the boards.

Because I had an ISSUE I wanted to know about (CS had no clue and YES there were posts from others that hadn't received it yet)

I would def understand if someone is passionate enough about it....would now come for the first time.

I was new once just like us all.....
