@rms1954 No biggie. Many of my friends when speaking to us say "you guys". I'm 74 and it's not a big deal to SOME of us LOL.

Would you be happier with her saying "You ladies" or "You gals"?

Where I'm from in the south, it's a generic for male and female. I use it often just like she does.

Each vendor has their own shtick (routine, gimmick,etc). Renee G. says " my ladies", and Kim G. says "y'all" It's their thing...

Had to dig deep in the nitpick bag for this one. I'm 72 & you guys is no big deal....I say it, my kids say it, my grandkids say it & Hey you guys, that's that.

Several years ago a parent complained to the principal that I was picking on the boys because I always said, "You guys."
The principal told her, "That's because she is a New Yawker!"

@rms1954 The idiomatic "you guys" doesn't refer to men. What she means is "you people". It's very commonly used in my area. It's the same as saying y'all in the South.

This was true when I went to college in the 1980s in New England, to a national school. Guys was generic for everyone, including just women.
