One Day Only & Other Rants

Lately, everything offered is a one day only, or only good for this hour, or buy multiples at a riduclously high price

Why offer something that is going to run out in one hour. So tiresome.

Also, why are all the hosts "Obsessed"

Why do the hosts seem "Amped" up -sometimes just turn the channel -

You know the answers they are sales tactics.

Hosts are obsessed with what? they are amped up because they are sales people.

Sounds like maybe another shopping venue would be a better choice for you.

Only solution is change channel, or put on mute or if you really want am item buy it because the prices on items change almost every day !

There really is a science to selling. One aspect of it is to create an urgency to buy. Hence, the one time onlys, the this day onlys, the TSV, etc.

What on earth is going on with people? The complaints on here day after day are so petty and stupid. For every valid criticism, I see 15 ridiculous ones.

Imaoldhippie! You are so right - maybe I'm the only one who is tired of hearing how "Obsessed" Ms. Goldstein is with a certain color, top, ruffle,etc. OR any other host that is "Obsessed" with a product - time for new word choices.

I guess you are right, I should find another venue - I am also an old hippie and getting cranky I guess

I've been watching QVC for as long as they have been selling stuff - I can remember hosts that could calmly present a product with calm & efficiency. There are a few new hosts that appear to have had one too many cups of caffeine prior to their "sales tactics".

Sorry you feel that way - my rant is the first one in over 40 years of watching QVC - I've seen many changes and just recently noticed the ones I mentioned. It has been very obvious in the last month.

I guess no one else noticed, so I'm very sorry if I offended.

I understand sales tactics - lately the "urgency" to sell is becoming more & more pronounced.

I will stop posting these outrageous claims and read what others have to say & nod my head in agreement.

I guess we have nothing better to do than express our disappoinment with a shopping channel that has changed (for the worse) over the years.

Shame on us -

I didn't think I was complaining, I said it was a "rant" - just wondering if anyone else had noticed.

Similar to the post about hosts interrupting vendors, or talking too much about their animals.....

@MG Chris ..............I totally agree with you. IMO posts are repeat after repeat and a lot of posts are witless. Of course all my post are bordering on genius! LOL not!

I enjoy coming to these forums, I learn a lot and for the most part enjoy reading the posts. But lately..............

I have taken to being very choosy as to which posts I continue to read and respond to. Some I dont even dare respond to because I would say things that would get me banned forever.

@Waterwoman , You have every right to your opinion. What I'n tired of are the posters who try to control what people post. If it is inapproiate the mods will take care of it. Don't be intimidated by the " board police ."

I noticed that overuse of the word "obsessed" too!!

What do I care if Courtley is "obsessed" with a ridiculously expensive hair scrunchie that comes with two outrageously priced socks and some other thing created out of the fabric scraps at the plant where it was made?!?!?!?

At least it wasn't SHERPA.

I agree with you about shopping somewhere else, but QVC to ME has become an endless source of mirth and comedy...and a study in the imaginative way to overuse and abuse hyperbole....!

The host's costume, the fantasitical descriptions and claims, the "this would cost 100 dollars more" schtick, the hyperactivity, the giant optic white teeth, the repetitive items ( SHERPA SHERPA SHERPA MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA pajamas, boot trim, droppy buttonless cardis, and now, a monstrous cartoon-like Sherpa purse....STILL laughing at that one!!!)

And unlike the other 1200 stations I get on Direct TV, this comedy has NO politics, and for that I'm grateful...

Of course, the immersion in QVC is causing other problems...most notable, I'm beginning to feel bad for the hosts who seem to be in the "Keep moving, screeching, commenting, false laughing lest your head go on the chopping block...."

And the comments on this board ...a lot of them are very clever and fun to read....

I just hope someone at QVC is reading them...I'd hate to have to go back to regular programming!!!

I have not watched QVC for more than a few minutes in at least 8 years. Most days, I never even check to see what the TSV is.

The tuning out began when I realized, like you, that I no longer enjoyed the programming. All the loud, fast talking made me more anxious than anything. Most of the hosts I enjoyed were gone. Yelling at the TV didn't make sense

I'm a lot happier not missing what it used to be. Those days are gone and will never return.

I get what you are saying, and those are just a few of the reasons I avoid turning to QVC.

It was fun while it lasted.

@Waterwoman Are you sure you hit everything about which you have a complaint? Why are you asking fellow customers these questions? We aren't QVC "insiders".
