Was that the thread complaining about a host and the Halloween show? If so, then I suspect that's the reason, and not the spelling or origin of a word.

No, it was not about the show but more about the spelling of Tchotchke.

And then I mentioned the word was Yiddish.

I grew up in a very multi cultural neighborhood. Loved Yiddish as if it were my own language. Even today i will say to people,"Hows by you?".

I hope your post or thread didn't get deleted because of your use of the word tchotchke. I didn't see that thread. There are many Yiddish words that have crept into the English language that a lot of people say without realizing. What comes to mind is a popular movie from 2010 called Dinner for Schmucks with Steve Carroll and Paul Rudd. If people only knew the meaning/translation. LOL

@Group 5 minus 1 ..............Im certain it did not get poofed for any Yiddish or discussion about a word or spelling. There were 3 threads about the same thing that was poofed because of how ugly they became.

Seriously??? Don't worry the thread was not poofed because of a Yiddish word. It was poofed because that thread was started as a bash to JT and continued as such.

Some people just can't help themselves and have to be negative when they post. Ever hear the saying.."If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all."??
