For me, tunic means a top that covers my crotch, which is what I want. I'm not tall, I'm only 5'3", but if you sat behind me in a theater you'd think I was 6'3" tall because I'm very long-waisted (and short-legged). Therefore a tunic that might fit you like a dress, doesn't fit me like that. It will probably barely cover my belly button. And that's not long enough for my liking. QVC has many tops that fit that criteria - I'm frequently disappointed when I check top lengths - even those described as tunics - in product info.

Unfortunately for me, the vast majority of tunics QVC offers that are long enough for my liking contain at least 5% spandex, which means they will feel hot and rubbery, and cling to and outline every place on my torso and rear that I want the fabric to skim over and conceal. So I will no longer buy any of QVC's spandex-laden tunics, which means my purchase options are also quite limited.

Guess we are both out of luck!

I also wear only tunics to cover up my variety of poofs...can't imagine wearing a short top - but what I really don't understand is the fad of stuffing a top/tunic into one's pants in the front only...- and I guess you'd need an absolutely smooth stomach to be able to carry it off - but still, just looks strange to me.

I prefer the longer length too. If you are wearing leggings, you need to wear a tunic.

Some of the lines have shorter tops, like Susan Graver and Kim Gravel.

I can appreciate that everyone likes different things even though i prefer tops that are on the shorter side. I have always liked the short boxy style top. Sometimes I see a tunic i like and will do the front tuck with it. I think the thing i really dislike when it comes to tunics is when a designer almost always (LG) puts pockets in the garment. It is very awkward to front tuck a tunic with pockets.

I think the shorter tops stop and brings the eye to the hips which could be the the fullest part of an apple shaped body, and I dont think thats slenderizing at all.....Im not saying a tunic is the most flattering, but just a slightly longer top is more slimming, those tops that stop right above the waist bring the eye to the hips.....just like the shark bite hems empahsizze the crotch...thats not attractive at all JMHO!

Just like we were talking on the other post about Isaacs TSV and where the top hit on the host wasnt very faltering to her, it empahsized her hips on an apple shape thats not good...a longer top looked better

To each their own and what looks best on you is the key...

I am 5'4" and many of the tunics just look overwhelming on me. If I am lucky enough to find a solid, spandex- free, without minus shark bite or high low hems, it is rare. Worse is the swing top...just adds pounds. I know what length looks best on me and check the measurements..,I have to pass up almost all of them. A petite tunic only works if it is proportioned right, not just shorter in length.

Honestly, I’ve stopped buying clothing from the Q. I’m 5’6” but wear a small size, and it seems like everything is so darn oversized. Just got tired of sending so many things back. Have found other retailers that fit me much better, are also much less expensive, and usually qualify for free shipping! Free shipping, now there’s a concept!
