Kim Gravel Swimsuit Presentation

I happened to catch the Kim Gravel presentation of her Hanky Halter Top & Brief Set. The Plus Size model that wore this set was a complete justification that this set is not for everyone. I'm not sure who is responsible for dressing the models, but this was a complete failure. There are a number of swimsuits in your inventory that look amazing on plus size models, this was just not one of them. It was hard to watch. It was embarrassing and I kept saying,"please don't turn around". I couldn't even watch it. I immediately left the website. QVC has sold it's sole to the devil...just Sell, Sell, Sell. Total disregard for the model's issues or the hosts. I find it easier to watch a particular program online. If I happen to see it live I watch for a few minutes with the sound off. Nice going QVC...what has happened to your company, You have lost sight of everything that got you to this point. That's why you have lost 98% of my business. Truly sad, this was my go to shopping site, but not anymore. I am one of a few and I'm sure I won't be missed, but continue at this pace and it may not be just me. I hope you don't wake up tomorrow and wonder what happened.

I think it's up to an individual what they will purchase, even though it may not be a good. Choose what you feel is comfortable for you. At least you saw what it looked like and can judge from there. No one cares if you shop here or not.

The high/low hem, the high part, is in a bad spot, both front and back. To me, it looks nasty no matter what size you are. Regarding the comment about sell, sell, sell. Well, of course. That's what QVC is supposed to do. That is their business, to sell.

This Gravel swimsuit along with her TSV both had skirts that were a little short in the back if you wanted to cover your bottom. The swim pant wasn't cut full enough to cover all the areas that makes on usually buy a swimsuit with a skirt .

The sun block swim suit that is the made by the Dr with a skirt on it , comes down a little lower and the built in panty looked to provide more coverage. So, actually it ends up being a good thing that QVC has models wearing some of these suits so one can actually see how mauch coverage or lack there is in a particular swim suit

I think the point the OP is trying to make is that the model did not show the suit off to its best advantage and that a smaller girl would have more appropriately worn that particular suit. She was fal!ing out of both the top and bottom of it, bordering on the obscene. Appearing as she did, she should not have been forced to wear something that was so inappropriate for her figure type. Where skimpy clothing is concerned, they should be more careful about who wears what.

8 agree with the OP. That suit was totally inappropriate for the model or anyone else regardless of size. The brief was TOO brief, especially in back; she was falling out of the top, and the high point of the hem is borderline porn. Kim needs to take that one back to the drawing board.

It didn't even look like it was the right size for her. Might have worked with a larger size on her.

Oh, please .... QVC is an online and TV shopping channel. They haven't "lost sight" of anything.

I have no idea what "total disregard for the model's issues" means, but the customers got to see what the suit looks like on a human, so what is wrong with that? They could make an informed decision.

This might just be a poor style of suit for anyone over size XXS. The stylist might have made a mistake. The model might have been a replacement for a model that cancelled. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes?

What I find funny is here on the boards a comment will be made about how something looks terrible on someone. Another poster will object and say if SHE likes how it looks on her, that's all that matters. All righty then.

Clearly, you didn't like the suit, but that doesn't mean anyone has sold their "soul" to the devil. It's just what happens with most retailers. Nothing is for everyone.

@Kachina624 , I totally agree. They really need some new stylists that have some common sense and respect for women.

This post made me curious so I looked up the suit. I think the model looks just great. The top is not too small. She is not falling out. It is quite normal to show cleavage in a swimsuit. The bottoms are not too small. The model has great legs. Not every swim suit is designed to meet the needs of everybody.

Like my mother said, "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything". If you don't like a garment, don't buy it but you don't need to be rude to the model or other buyers.

I looked up this swimsuit & the model wearing it & honestly do not see anything wrong with it other than it's not a suit I would buy. Another post mentioned it was borderline obscene - my goodness has she been to a beach lately (ie: thong bikinis).

To me, it is just a badly designed swimsuit, and really didn't look very good on the thinner model either. I do feel for the models, I realize that they have to wear clothes that they really hate or doesn't really look good on them.

Have they changed the video? Honestly all I saw was two large women and one not large one in swimsuits. I did not see anything obscene, risque, or disgusting. I saw some large women in a swimsuit. And large or small I have seen far far far worse on tv. And at awards shows. And red carpets. And weddings. The brides.

I see nothing wrong with the suit and perhaps the objection is the handkerchief skirt. There are one piece suits on Q that are cut higher on the leg without full coverage on the back. Personal preference again. I personally would not purchase that style because the skirt would drive me nuts in the water. The models showed confidence and poise. Nice job ladies.

Fit on models and hosts is a common comment on this Forum.

QVC has a fashion stylist who IMO has no talent for dressing women evidenced by other fashion disasters I have seen.

That may sound harsh, but I believe QVC could sell more if they coordinated outfits attractively and models and hosts wore proper sizes.

Everything does not look good on all figures. It's one thing customers buy clothing that doesn't look good on them, but QVC pushing something on TV they should know doesn't just erodes their public image.

Don't expect anything to be done about it.
