... rather than the actual item. I close out and move on. When an item comes in several colors or iterations, I want to see them shown. Isn't that the point of a presentation? Presenting a single choice and showing pictures of the rest is a practice that needs to stop. It's utter nonsense.

Haha, I do the same. So many times, I watch a presentation on the website and all they do is review and show the website. Many times, they dont even have the item!

I'd like to see the colors presented but if they're not available & a picture is used, it's not a deal breaker...only pictures are available on most websites I shop so I appreciate the Q presentations, no complaints from me.

Right!? I see they're done on Q2 all the time. I hate that! Like you, I want to see what the colors look like under the normal cameras not a picture. I just don't know what the thought process is behind a lot of their decisions.

Good it works for you and each to their own, but seeing the actual color or item is theoretically one of the things that sets TV presentation-based home shopping apart from other retailers selling on-line. If all they can offer is a picture then maybe all they need is a website...

I noticed this started during the pandemic. I assumed it had to do with limiting contact, supply chain issues, decreased staffing, etc.

Not a deal breaker for me because most of my shopping is online and videos are a rarity.

Q doesn't offer just pictures...the clothing is modeled in different sizes, in 1or more colors & I appreciate seeing that so I can judge how the clothing will look on me. Present the item, if all colors aren't available then show a picture...it's pretty simple to me.

It's fine for folks to not agree. Of course, there are so many things offered other than clothing but again, if it works for you that's great. For me, if I'm spending a large chunk of change for an item, I want to see what I'm getting and let's face it, not everything presented is or can be worn by a model. I had my eye, for example, on a handbag costing, with their pricey shipping, several hundred dollars. For me to buy, they're going to have to do better than holding up the bag in a leopard print and then showing me not very clear or large pictures of the other colors. Again, mileage varies.

Recently there have been several instances of my choosing an item and color on qvc.com and putting it in my cart, then seeing it live on tv and instantly changing my color or size preference after seeing it live.

Colors especially look so different on tv live compared to iffy ones on their website. I always thought that was the biggest selling points of QVC - seeing things live, on real people, and having explanations that really help e.g. "we're calling this emerald but it is really a soft olive"!! Sometime details are shown that are not even noticeable in the online photos.

Yes, I like it when they have all the colors on set.

I'll tell you what's even crazier. When they have a video online of the item where all the colors are presented in the video and you can see them well. Then later they replace that video with a more current one that likely aired on Q2 and they have, as you have referenced, one color on the video and the rest are "pictures" off the computer. Thanks QVC...thanks a lot for that.

I purchase from several different online retail sites. Only two of them [from as many as 8 or 9 sites] have live or video presentations of the items. I actually look at QVC & HSN as the anomaly, not the norm.

So QVC resorting to photos-only does not dissuade me from continuing to shop the item. Yes, it highlights that the shows can indeed go on without the hosts at all.

But I do completely turn away from the item I'm interested in if there's nothing -- no on-air presentation, no online video, and no photo. In fact, that is happening more & more lately. Too many "placeholders" are loaded up, but apparently the item hasn't made it in yet. That is what frustrates me to no end, and I move on entirely.

Yes, I agree this is a counterproductive idea. The colors shown on the website via live presentation are not the same as the colors shown live in the studio, and different again from just going direct to the website. I end up not knowing what I'm seeing, and the presenters don't seem to clarify the colors they can't see themselves. So what's the point in the live presentations if I'm still left guessing?

It doesn't bother me. Colors look different on TV than they do in person anyway. Everyone's TV has different colorization that can be adjusted to their liking.

Right now things are not back to normal yet and I don't expect things to go back to the old ways for a while.

I live in PA and had my car totaled right in the middle of the pandemic. There were no car dealers open in PA. I ordered one from a dealer in Viriginia who delivered it to me sight unseen with no contact. It is something I did not want to do, but I had to make do.

I don't understand adults being upset over issues that there is no control over. We all know there are shipping issues and problems getting inventory in.

All the complaints about shipping problems, on air presentations, and vendors not being on site are a moot point. It is what it is. It can't be helped. We have to learn to adapt to changes. There are bigger and more important issues to worry about.
