QVC prices!

I just looked at the items on tonight's Fashion's Night In, and with the exception of a few things on sale, most everything is $50 and a lot higher! With tax and shipping, well do the math! You can shop online anywhere now, so the "C" of convenience is no longer unique, the "V" for value is gone, and the "Q" for quality is also not unique to the Q when most products are made overseas. My closet is full of clothes from the Q, particularly Susan Graver and LOGO, but as newly retired, I'm going to have to shop elsewhere, which is unfortunate. But anyone can get the same quality of clothing from, for instance, Macy's, for substantially less. We all know there is a huge mark-up in clothing, I urge QVC to reevaluate their pricing. The baby boomers like myself are all retiring and will have limited discretionary funds, no matter how much they like something, or how many easy pays they have!

QVC prices? Have you checked out the prices every where on everything? Been to the grocery store lately? QVC's prices are no different than others.

I agree. I find QVC's prices much higher than anywhere else. I think they take advance of the stay at home people.

@giova I am not sure what you're talking about. The prepared foods are definitely more expensive than cooking yourself but clothing and beauty are comparable to other retailers. Everything has gone up but QVC has different price points for different lines within their "store". Off & on I watched the fashions tonight. They had a pajama set (top & pants) for $34ish and Anybody tops at around $38. How is that taking advantage of stay at home people? People at home are free to shop from their computers at any store online. What do you mean?

I haven't been in a Rick and mortar store in more than a year.

I guess you can call what I'm relaying here as second hand.

My friend I eat lunch with 3 or 4 times a week. Often the main topic is inflation.

She tells me constantly that QVCprices are much higher than what she sees in stores she frequently goes into.

I don't have the stamina to park and walk around in stores.

I almost entirely shop at QVC.

Like I said, my information mostly comes from my friend.

However, I will add that my youngest 41 year old daughter has been visiting me quite frequently from Colorado.

She'll sit and watch QVC with me. According to her, QVC prices are much higher than most of the stores she goes to and/or orders on line.

I don't mind paying (perhaps more) for something if I really like it.

The way I see it is there are lots of places to shop.

If you think QVC prices are expensive, just shop somewhere else.

That seems like an easy solution to me.

I would love to go to a mall in the suburbs of Chicago, but cars are being stolen left and right. In 1977, my mom and I went to the Oak Brook mall and her beautiful car was stolen! The police officer told us these thefts are quite frequent. Sorry, I have a fabulous car and I will not risk it. So I'm happy to shop Q, but I think the prices have escalated.

let's factor in gasoline has gone way up effecting how goods get shipped, boxes ect. Then with Covid.... rearranging where employees can work 6 ft apart, now the loss of life and the fire to the warehouse.

QVC does comparable pricing, it compares itself to high end department stores and boutiques. Thus the high prices. It can say, "our prices a lower than Saks."

QVC fashion is not, nor has it ever been, comparable to Saks. Or Nordstrom or Bloomies, etc. It's mass market fashion like Macy's, Kohl's or Penney's.

Sometimes I think people who complain about QVC prices are not true "shoppers."

Yes, anything can seem a bit high if it is newly introduced, but QVC has GREAT sales once an item is past season, or relegated to lunch time specials. At the QVC outlets, prices are really giveaways. I do not think QVC sells any clothes higher than a few hundred dollars, except for the down coats.

I shop everywhere, and when I see the prices at NM and Saks for a handbag (thousands!) or a pair of shoes, that is when I gulp and say the prices are much too high. One often pays more just because of the name brand.

Yes, I agree Macy's also has great sales, but some of the quality is mixed, and there is a lot more focus on the younger age shoppers.

Sears and JCP always had great prices and sales, but their styles did not attract fashion divas, which is why it seems those stores are now biting the dust.

There is always a line at the Gucci store here in the KOP mall--I think some young people really want the status of wearing designer items, no matter the price.

Finally, many workers are now getting well deserved raises--hopefully that is also happening in the fashion industry.

I shop at QVC because I like the styles, the fit, the comfort, and in almost all cases, the price as well!

It is very hard to compare prices unless you are shopping for the exact same thing in different places. It is hard to compare if an item is only sold at QVC and not anywhere else. There are a few brands I shop for that are not offered at QVC. Their prices have gone up also. My attitude is only buy what you can afford, go elsewhere if the price is too high for your budget.

For me I find good bargains in lots of places. Sometimes it is the Q and sometimes not.

Don't have to buy anything you don't want to. Sometimes it costs more for convenience. I'm able get out and about safely and easily. I shop all over.

I had to change my name on this. What's up with that?

I always price shop. Almost everything Q sells can be found for less elsewhere. Other retailers have real sale prices, promo codes, free shipping, many with free returns, etc.

IMO I feel the prices are out of control on the Q. Yes I am aware of everything that's happening but I do browse and shop online a lot and I agree with others that say items of same or better quality are often less money and free shipping is offered a lot. As a matter of fact HSN is having their semi annual clearance today with free shipping once you hit $75.00 and the prices are really good! Just sayin.

@decaf I agree they market as if they are comparable to Saks, and other retailers that are high end. No they are not. I think Kohl's and Macy's are right on target with what they sell. The designer lines are just basic more of the same.

QVC is an outdated model. They did cater to the people that were housebound at inception. Now with Amazon and a zillion other online retailers they lost some of the leverage.. The only advantage they have right now is air time. So they dominate the small percentage that can't go online.

In my opinion, QVC is better quality than Kohl's. I'm referring to things such as clothing and bed linens (Northern Nights). Kohl's is less expensive but you get what you pay for.

I haven't been to Macy's in years! Time sure has flown by with Covid restrictions, my life is so different now.

I beg to differ with you. QVC's delivery and return prices are ridiculous, not to mention the quality of some of their designers have sunk to new lows.

@RooRoo QVC and their marketing have done the job. As long as customers believe that they stay in business.

@GSPgirl ...........There are ridiculous prices on Amazon too, especially by the 3rd party sellers along with extremely high shipping charges.

There are also very good prices on items, but buyer beware, especially clothing. When Im in the market for clothing it takes me quite a while to hunt and peck for good quality items. As an example I was hunting (on Amazon) for a thin turtleneck to wear under sweaters, etc. After days of searching I finally found a good quality one for $13.99 with free shipping and American made, so the deals are out there but a lot of perserversence is need, IMO.
