I saw on th local news this morning that their was 1 fatality at the QVC dist. center fire. I feel very bad. Condolences to the his family. RIP.

Sad news...my prayers go out to the family and friends of this employee. I hope that there will be a contribution to the family from the funds that are being collected.

It was heartbreaking to hear from the police that Kevon (pronounced Kee-von) had spoke to his family at 1:30 AM on his break, then the fire exploded at 2 AM.

None of them knew that would be the last time they would ever speak to their loved one(s) again.

They went to the parking lot of the distribution center and found his car still in the parking lot, with all of his possessions inside, but no sign of him.

They say that they knew then that he didn't make it out of the fire.

So sad......

He was only 21 and had just started working there 3 weeks ago.

@KingstonsMom thanks for the picture. The huge fires can feel impersonal, but not once I see the faces of the victims. So sad.

@decaf I agree. He was still working in their warehouse.

Just a request, but please don't throw stones, it will end up getting this thread closed and it's not fair to other poster's who want to see and post lovely comments on the loss of this young man.

It's so very early in the investigation to start throwing stones, all of the 'facts' aren't even known yet, but it IS a fact that he worked for one of QVC's contractors. even the police press conferences have said this.

This tragedy has surely thrown all of QVC, including at the corporate level, into a tailspin.

From reading posts and tributes on social media from his loving, grieving family, it's very clear that his son, Kylan, will always be raised with their recounting treasured memories of his Dad and how much he loved him.

One really cute video they posted shows Kylan on one side of a glass storm door, when Kevon returns from work and is on the outside of the glass door.

Kylan just does the cutest baby 'jig' with his arms outstretched for Dad to pick him up, giggling hysterically, before Dad even gets inside!

Such a tragedy, nothing will ever replace the loss of his loving father Kevon..

I agree with what @decaf posted. This statement seems very cold and impersonal to me. He DIED!! while working for QVC.

In my opinion, if the victim was a big mucky-muck like a vice-president or something they would certainly say his name.

The posters on this thread sound more caring and concerned than QVC does, at least so far.

How tragic. Has QVC released a statement what caused the fire ? I fear it may have been a discarded cigarette.
