@rms1954 I certainly hope so. The in studio presence is so much better. The remote video atttendance is more prone to technical "hiccups" and not as engaging with the split screen phenomena.

Not if it costs the Q less money to do it this way. Like other companies are deciding, during pandemic...if they can do remote just as effectively, for less money, (and many workers prefer the ease and flexibility of remote work, as I'm sure these vendors do...much easier to walk into their spare room and shoot than drive to & from QVC's studios, at all odd hours, several times a week)...then they will continue. Will they EVER have some back...probably, maybe. But, like other companies, I'm just guessing it will be a mix. It's workin' for everyone, I think.

Not sure who bears the cost for the vendor coming to the QVC Studio. Is it QVC or the vendor? Many, if not all, have to use the airlines to get to the Q, then there's the cost involved with a hotel stay where they must stay during their visit. When they're in person at the studio, they ususally have several appearances scheduled over a few days.

Once, several years ago, when my sister and I were making a trip to the QVC outlet in Frazer, which is only a short distance away from the studio, we ran into Bob Mackie at the Classic Diner. There are a few nice hotels in the Frazer area, so he most likely was staying at one of those hotels during his scheduled studio appearances.

Given the situation with the pandemic, I don't blame them for not traveling to be there in person. It'll change when people get smart about it.

@rms1954 I know I prefer the vendors/reps in the studio, but I can't think of any item I didn't buy from QVC because they appeared from home. I don't know that would always have been true; when TV shopping was new to me, I did buy impulsively more often than I do now.

@amyb - Agree with everything you're saying. I also don't think it's that big of a deal not being there in person in the studio.

Working from home works 100% for my company as with many others out there.

Good point @millieshops . I haven't stopped purchasing from the Q because the vendor presented from their home.

It does make for a more enjoyable show when the vendor is in the studio. You can certainly understand the whole remote thing going on. I think they will most likely have some back in and others will continue on remote, like a lot of work places. As far as who pays for travel and hotels, I would think the company that is selling the product picks up the tab for that. It's a tax write off.

I agree with you @qbetzforreal . It's just another way of saying goodbye. Similar to "Let's do lunch" when speaking in person.

I, too, work from home and prefer it to the commute in traffic and all kinds of weather.

If the in home presentations were a better sound & visual quality and If the vendors stuck to providing all the details abt the product along with showing all angles of the item esp the bottom of shoes , than I wouldn't care .

Most of the vendors sound and visiual quality is crappy . The vendor Reps don't always give all the info abt an item.

Customers are just left to order a item and take a chance - pay shipping or buy elsewhere which is usually the best to save time & money.

Not saying it's a "big deal" or a vendor not being there won't stop people from shopping with QVC, I just wondered if they will truly ever come back. I do miss it sometimes. I don't like the video quality of the zoom thing and then some vendors were getting phone calls and spending more time watching their phones instead of their presentations. But, it's all good ... I know it's not my choice.

My opinion only...I don't think the venders will come back to the studio unless maybe they live within driving distance.

It is too expensive to fly, stay in a hotel and too dangerous with COVID to travel.

Covid is not going away soon. It will be around forever just like the other flu viruses. We just have to learn to live with the changes. Safety is paramount,

Vendors do not need to be in the studio. A total waste of time and money. They present just fine from home.

Even if a representative is local I see no need to go to the studio. No real reason for so many non QVC employees to march in and out on a daily basis, if safety is a true concern. Keep them home.

I'm sure the vendors would rather present from their home instead of traveling to QVC. A 10 minute presentation from home makes more sense than an overnight stay.

I think the big concern for the vendors is the travel and I dont blame them, I wouldnt want to travel by plane right now... I dont mind the vendors presenting from home EXCEPT when their Skype or other connection is lousy or breaks up and you cant even hear or understand them...In fact I rather enjoy some of the experimenting that Q2 does with vendors presenting their products all on their own without a host...Some vendors do these presentations quite well and give LOTS of product information...
