Just learned that you get charged twice on return shipping fees..........

I just did a live chat with CS inquiring about a return on an item. I did use their label because it was cheaper than if I had paid.... but when I looked at my credit of $.54 cents.. (Also, on view of the item, nothing was broken down on how the $.54 was calculated) I was confused... So, in doing a live chat, I found out that you are charged for the original shipping which I get, but you are also charged again the $3.50 shipping/handling charge, plus their $6.95 shipping charge?? So overall, I paid $13.95 for a return of the item... Maybe a lot of you knew this, but I didn't.. I don't have many returns, but now after finding this out..... I will be so much more aware.. shame on me for not catching this sooner, but I wanted to pass this on...... WOW, is all I can say.............. Shame on the Q for such outrageous fees........... So be aware.... Now I understand when posts would say it cost more to return an item.. I didn't understand, but now I do........

When you return using their label you are charged the price on the return label -- $6.95, 8.95 etc and you forfeit the original s&h cost for the order. I never was charged the s&h fee twice.

This must be new, because at one time, we were only billed the amount on the return label for the return shipping. I'd call customer service in person and ask for a supervisor because this information seems wrong to me.

@Sunniegirl You are charged the $6.95 return postage fee plus the original $3.50 shipping charge. Period. You are not charged $3.50 2X, if that's what you're saying.

That's not correct. You should only be charged the $6.95 for use of the QVC return label and you forfeit the original shipping of $3.50 on an item. If you returned two items back in one box, you would forfeit whatever the original shipping was on each item plus the $6.95. As mentioned earlier, email the QVC Social Team and they will remedy this if an error has occurred in your refund.

I know..why so much to send back but only 3.50 to ship it to you. If you put something on easy pay it’s like you almost owe them money to send it back. I’ve really cut down purchasing because of this. You would think they would do so much volume it could be less expensive. Especially with clothing…so hard to find just the right fit of something or it doesn’t appear to look as well as seen on tv.

I don't think QVC shipping and return fees are out of line at all. I find them to be comparable to other online retailers, and cheaper than several.

Even those that offer "free" shipping and returns have conditions applied to them.

When I did the live chat with the CS, I asked her, "so I am charged twice for the S/H of $3.50 and she said yes... That's what was so crazy to me...

Pay for your items using PayPal. They will pick up the cost of return shipping for up to $30 for each item up to 12 times in a calandar year.

You can't beat that.

@geezerette Unless Q has something I need to have that no one else sells, I order from retailers who have free shipping and free returns. Nordstrom will send you a $10 eye liner sharpener at no cost, so will Amazon. Banana Republic, J Crew and the other places I shop have a $50 min. order for free shipping or free ship/free returns.

I've ordered an item from QVC on 5 easy pays and when I returned it, the credit was as little as $.25 because the original shipping charge and the cost of their label was deducted. I think many times before ordering here and then make sure I'll be keeping the item.

@spent2much @Carmie tha is correct but I have a heck of a time trying to get that refund from PayPal for QVC purchases because QVC doesn't break down how they do the refund. Honestly with any returns to QVC, you are much better off paying for the return yourself so you have a receipt to submit to PP for the amount you paid. Do not use the Q return label.

The last time I made a return to QVC, they issued me a refund for the purchase price, then charged me (via PP) the $6.95 for the return label fee. When I submitted the documents to get the $6.95 refunded, they wouldn't give me the refund because they wanted to see a receipt with the full purchase price and then the $6.95 deducted from my refund. We went round and round with me submitting documents multiple times and they never would refund the $6.95 to me.

Just pay for the return fee at the PO. Save your receipt. Submit the receipt along with a screen print of the return.
