topic QVC 2? in Q Talk

QVC 2?

I've been trying for months to understand what QVC2 is. Sometimes it's live with a host and vendor on a different platform. Another time, like now, it's vendors with no in-person host. I'm not sure what to make of this. The Vendors on Zoom/Skype sound horrible and I can't see the true color(s). It's just not enjoyable to watch. QVC2 seems like a ditch effort for more sales. I just don't get it.

@HonestLife You don't need to analyze or understand it. Nobody does. Just accept it for what it is. At least we have a respite from Christmas programming.

I agree. The colors are not acurate on the zoom/skype and it's annoying when their connection breaks up. I really wish it would be possible for the vendors to be back in the studio again.

Unfortunately, I don't think things are going to go back to the way they were before the pandemic. I guess they're saving money doing things the "new way" so they're not eager to change it.

The only vendor that has been back in the studio is the Cook's Essentials rep.

@HonestLife I enjoy having QVC2 and QVC3 (with fire stick). If I am not interested in what is on QVC, I can change it. Those channels are reruns of what was on QVC. I just wish I could get those channels in HD. But I also like to DVR certain shows and then I have that option too. Only drawback is that prices are not the same.Yesterday's TSV price is not the same if I watch it today.

I stopped watching Q2 awhile ago. Maybe just through my cable co., but the screen/print is smaller and difficult to read. Even before covid, it was the same..such a eye strain to see item numbers. I agree not knowing what shows are live is a bummer. The few shows I recorded may have had a host, but they only had one color sample and rest we were supposed to check for ourselves online. What?!?!

I used to love Beauty IQ and we don't get Q3, so with all the boring shows on QVC, they're losing me more often than not.

I never used to have any interest in the other Q channels. However, these days if I have a couple of minutes to fling myself on the couch for a bit of a break, and I don't like what regular Q is offering (like 99% of the time), I'll switch to one of the other Qs. Pretty easy when all you have to do is talk to the remote. If I had to search for them I wouldn't bother.

Many of these vendors turned 'hosts' are doing a great job I think. They could easily take over as regular permanent hosts.

I've not watched QVC 2 or 3, they're neither on my basic cable and I don't feel like searching for them on my Roku. I don't understand the concept and have often wondered why they interrupt programming to show us what's on QVC 2, guessing it's to let everyone know it's there.

If you don't like what's on Q1 they'd prefer that you switch to Q2 rather than shut them out completely.

I've heard Q1 hosts steer viewers to this "alternative program ".

Totally makes marketing sense.

They interrupt to show you what is on the other channel to encourge sales!

Sell/Offer you two items at once!

Pop ups on websites and on air are designed for that exact purpose....to increase sales

Bottom line is all QVC channels are shopping channels to get us to buy. Promoting across is designed to entice us to buy.

I took a look at today's Program Guide. I see that any QVC watching for me today will definitely be on Q2. No repeated Shark TSV, no 3 hours of Susan Graver, no Sandra in the Garden....

I'll peek back on the main channel for Down Home With David though.

They have been showing him on a split screen for months but clearly he is in the studio. He and the host will look at each other from time to time. Also the video and audio quality is supurb when he is on so.......he is in the studio.

I dont quite understand the concept of airing reruns of shows--- (except QVC saves money---they dont have to hire as many hosts, and they save on production costs)....There's even a disclaimer that prices or special offers may no longer apply, quantities may be different.....Therefore, I dont want to watch a show and you find out that an item in the size or color was already sold out, and you dont even find that out until you go to order the item .....🤔
