signature required UPS delivery

This is interesting. Doorbell rang about 10 min ago I knew it was UPS as I saw the truck and the driver normally rings bell.

I just "ignored" the doorbell then it rang again. To my surprise, the driver asked me to "confirm & spell my last name". I asked him why isn't there a label (3 parts are a mess😡) he said "no qvc is requiring this on deliveries & signature".

The item was Lock N Lock spice containers value $25 not a computer or high end item.

Must be something new -- guess I'll miss deliveries if I have to sign now. (I'm not signing up for another delivery app plus if like USPS it's never accurate).

@homedecor1 Maybe a data entry operator hit the wrong key. The only thing I've heard you must sign for is wine.

@homedecor1 - Hopefully it was just a one-time event; I've had two UPS deliveries from the Q in the past two weeks and neither required a signature.

Sounds like you might have put a claim on a package for a lost package?

UPS will require all signatures for your packages. It's very hard to

reverse this, might be years until you won't have to sign.

If I have to sign, I will not buy anything ever again from q. I buy very little now, & so I will be completely finished. Hello Amazon.

Two items, neither expensive.

Fortunately, I was home.

Horrid for the UPS drivers.

Horrid for us, if we're not home.

just very unusual plus I always get packages quickly even my USPS packages.

I'm wondering if it wasn't some glitch. There are often items where a signature is still requested, but that usually applies to alcohol, medications and electronics.

That is rather odd, I would call UPS tomorrow and ask why your address is flagged for signature required.

If UPS states your address is not flagged for signaure required, then it's the Q that put that requirement on the package. Should be interesting which it is.

If you are not home, UPS will leave a note, sign the back and tack back up on your door and the driver will come the next day to deliver and leave your package.

Just tried EVERY UPS phone number.

You get a robot.

No matter what I say the problem is, I won't get connect to an agent.

The old "agent" or press 0 request doesn't work.

No customer service email.

Sigh. No idea how to talk to someone to check

Just printed out my Q package delivered receipt.

It says,

"sent via UPS Signature 2nd day"

Both packages (not expensive) were ones I expedited 2 day.

However, I do this ALL THE TIME.

I always pay for faster delivery, never had to sign.

For years!

I wonder, and I am just thinking out loud here, but I wonder if perhaps QVC is trying to reduce claims of customers saying that they didn't receive their package, when in fact, they did.

In no way, shape or form, am I even remotely suggesting that that is what @homedecor1 is doing.

But, there are people out there who will get their package, then turn right around, contact the company, and lie, and say that they didn't get it, just to get another one for free.

As I said, it's just a thought.

Thinking out loud is good.

However, I shop the Q a lot and the only pckage I never received was inexpensive and was lost by the post office.

When we pay for expedited shipping, the LAST thing we want is two extra days to get it because we weren't home to sign.

@homedecor1 , that happened to me today also. I have an account with UPS so I was notified a package would be delivered today, then later I received another email that I could track the driver, and after I read the notice again, saw where I needed to sign for it. but it did give me an option to sign now before it was delivered. It was simply clothing, however it was over $100 so I thought maybe that was the reason. UPS delivery notice is accurate for me, and I can manage my deliveries, I just need to pay attention when I receive the delivery notice.

@1Professor - Definitely try calling again tomorrow—customer service lines are not staffed around the clock, and you may need to be transferred to a specific department rather than just asking anyone who may answer. Good luck!
