Is It Possible???

That QVC's IT department has so little to do that they've knocked themselves out to make the boards even more jumpy than they've ever been before? Everytime I change pages or even touch the screen, I slide up to that disgusting ad for the app then jump around while I try to get to where I want to be.

I've used QVC.Com since it's inception. Do these idiots think I don't know about the app? Why would I choose to use it when I can't access the boards from there? Maybe their time would be better spent figuring out a way to get us to the boards from the app. I'm sure not going to use it until they do, but this jumping and sliding is aggravating the heck out of me!!!

I am getting a lot of jumping here too. I use an iPad and it is very annoying.

I had their app for a while and kept getting that notice to "Get the App" when I had it!!😠

The other day I was on the QVC app trying to place an order and that stupid message came up about using the app (it's like what do you think I am using) - took a while to get it to go away before I could place my order.

I don't think it's the IT dept, it's what's been integrated in each site. There's no person sitting there waiting to push a button to send you a message to get the app. My online bank account has a page that pops up when I sign in that asks me if I want to purchase life insurance. There is one choice that says "click here if you no longer want to see this message." So I click it and move on into my account. Next time I sign in, I get the message AGAIN that I chose I no longer want to see the message. This has been going on for months.

I thought the IT team added the special on "extra jumpy pages" in May.

On the other hand, I have yet to see this behemoth add hovering overhead, thank goodness!

@Kachina624 Wish I could heart your post 100 times!!! Absolutely 100% irritating and annoying. Those that understand, and use Apps know they are out there, how to get them and use them. Those that don't use technology are not going to suddenly get one and use them. Put a small notation on the page if you must, but a huge ad? That bounces around like a kid in one of those blow up castles? NO...I'm with you. It needs to go. Sorry but if you make something irritating to the user chances are they are NOT going to buy it. Guess they haven't figured out that marketing point.

how about using hyperlinks on brands so I could look at a Denim and Co top and then click to see all the garments under that brand as 99% brands do,

I dont think the problem is QVC's IT people, it's more what they have to work with, and what Management tells them to do....

I hate to use the QVC App and I've even tried using the Chrome Browser on my phone to get to the QVC website that way. There always seems to be an issue and the pop ups are so annoying especially the one about the mobile app I find that my laptop is the best way to access QVC & the Forums with a Chrome Browser and I havent experienced any jumping....

If you get the pop ups try to unsubscribe if they have a privacy section where you can opt out or try AdBlock and see if that helps with your phone or tablet....

@Spurt I use Google Chrome on a tablet and I have AdBlocker installed but it doesn't seem to help with this latest intrusion.

WOW...if even AdBlocker doesnt help it seems there's no hope getting these issues resolved unless QVC does a whole new upgrade which seems unlikely....

If you get rid of the cookies every time you visit the website, the website won't know you clicked before.

on that monstrosity pop-up for the QVC App, the pop-up goes away at least for a while.

If you tap on the "Continue to Mobile Web," is the pop-up still following you from page to page?

It's a dreadful concept.

Drives people away rather than encouraging them to use the app or the website or anything associated with QVC as far as I can tell.

Even after removing the pop-up, I have noticed the pages jumping more than before when I use my iPad.

I think that's because the system is trying to load the frame containing the "GET" app message, no matter whether we chose "Continue to Mobile Web" or not.

QVC.com = Imbroglio. Or maybe Quagmire.

Should be renamed.

Most of us (from what I can tell) already do use adblockers and pop-up blocking, but they're not effective in this case.

The usual adblocking or pop-up blocking settings and mobile apps are not preventing this. I have them enabled but even so this appeared at the top of the page.

Some ads on websites, coded as an integral part of the functions of the sites themselves, are not suppressed by settings on devices or 3rd-party adblocking apps.

Also, it's worth mentioning that this is appearing on mobile devices only because it is advertising the mobile app for mobile devices.

Those using computers shouldn't see it, because mobile apps don't apply to them.

For mobile devices, my guess about the reason some see it and others do not: since this annoying banner is new the site might be "rolling it out" gradually, only to some sessions, (logged in or just reading) as they've been known to do in the past.

I'm here on a tablet but haven't seen the ad.

While my tablet browser is set on mobile view, at the same time I select the "full" view offered by this website.

This combination is the only way I see all seven icons (from Menu across to Cart) at the top of the screen.

I wonder if this is why I don't see the awful ad.

I use an iPad. Today I finally got a red "get the app" tab at the bottom of my page with an "x" in the corner, so I clicked that and the annoying full page ad at the top of the forums disappeared.
