@rms1954 Surely you don't think they REALLY order while on air? Just a sales ploy. They see the stuff before the show. If they want something, they'd order then.

Jane had her cellphone in her hand and held it up to show that she was ordering a pj set from......oh I'm going blank on his name.......the robe/pajama guy, when she was on her recent show with Courtney. It surprised me as I didn't think the hosts were allowed to do that anymore. And being oh so loud & dramatic about it.

David has made a huge point of showing that he is ordering during his program.

I have absolutely no doubt that he, along with a few prominent others, are really ordering.

it’s the same thing that must happen frequently in retail- some years ago, I chatted with a sales associate in a Nordstrom St. John’s department. She mentioned she worked there just to have first dibs when clothes went on sale. More stories, same theme - another day.

Some hosts mention they ordered an item prior to airing, but some do try to order during the presentation.

It's either an attempt to drive up orders, or maybe they see the popularity of a particular item, with sudden fear of missing out. I think it's a little of both.

Cheap tricks like this sales ploy are one of the reasons I no longer watch QVC's programming. How dumb do they think we are?

I've been unable to connect to their server. I've run a diagnostic check and all things on my end were find. The message I keep getting is QVC server is unable to connect.

QVC is pushing the QVC app which is why hosts are showing us how easy it is to order using a smartphone.

I only thought he was doing that to show how easy it is to order on your phone. He usually follows it with the giant credit card pitch.

I believe it's a ploy also but I also believe they don't actually hit the button to complete they order or if they do place it they probably cancel more than they actually keep.
