Shipping increase AGAIN ?

I remember the big change when we were supposed to have three dollar shipping on everything, and then suddenly it crept to $3.50… And then $5.50 on some items. And lo and behold the new pineapple flameless TSV is $7.50 for one. No thank you - $15 to ship 2? I don’t think so; you lost me on this one QVC and I love flameless candles.

And yes, I shop on the free shipping days, but a TSV at s&h of $7.50 is way too high.

It would cost a lot more than $7.50 if YOU were to mail it through USPS, UPS or FedEx.

I went back and forth all day on this one. While it was an excellent price, I opted NO due to the S&H. Although they did state it was heavy so ....

I thought from the title of this thread that shipping had increased again, but I can see it hasn't.

The lantern does say it weighs over 8 lbs. and it's over 17 inches high. Check the shipping charges for something of that weight with UPS, USPS, FedEx. I think you'll find that's still a reasonable cost. If it's something you love, it's worth it. If not, the answer is simple.

ETA: I see someone has left a review that s(he) didn't order because the shipping for two would've been $15. What kind of review of the product is that? I do wish QVC would do something about actually vetting so that reviews are about the product. Otherwise, they're useless.

QVC might get and probably does get a discounted deal with the shippers

I guess if you want the item we need to figure out the total cost with sh/h and decide if it's worth it

I'm sure Q gets a deal from shippers. One of the departments I ran was an outgoing mail dept for a huge Fortune 500 corporation. UPS and FedEx charged $3 to $6 to ship a box by ground. USPS charged 1/2 of their regular rate.

If you read Q's financial records, they make money on shipping. I doubt they'll want to change that.

High shipping costs have stopped me from buying many times. I look for ways to avoid it, but that's hard to do at qvc.

I always thought QVC shipping costs were reasonable. If you buy something heavy it is going to cost more to ship. I have purchased from other retailers that charge a lot more for shipping.

I DID think tnis thread was going to be a heads up that shipping costs were being increased, so the title was misleading.

USPS, Fed Ex and UPS have all raised their prices. I do some selling on Ebay and the price to ship is crazy, It's just not QVC.

It saddens me that a corporation I support like QVC will do this to earn an easy buck. Their prices are high enough without shipping fees.

@Pecky - I've thought of trying to sell some of my stuff on eBay but never get around to it, because I figure it will be a major hassle. On the other hand, I can't just donate it all (no kids to leave it to and my cats don't wear jewelry or my other stuff).

I'll probably just go the route of taking any jewelry I no longer want to a shop to see what I can get. Or maybe I'll pluck up the courage to try to sell online!

I'm with you. I dislike when QVC allows those sort of "reviews" Meanwhile, I have purchased products and at times; my review has not been posted, even if it is a positive review. Then I still have to look at those that say, "I would have bought this but... blah, blah, blah."So then, I hit the report button as to alert CS of the issue and mentioned that I have purchased items, sometimes 2 and 3 times and I receive the message," You have already submitted a review for this product." Meanwhile the item may have changed or I'm disappointed with the second or third purchase, but nope....No second review allowed. I have seen some of the reviews get poofed when I sent the message to CS though. They must agree that it's wrong and acknowledge the error on their part for allowing it. But still no second reviews allowed.

I always shop around. At least 95% of what Q sells can be found elsewhere for lower prices, promo codes, and free shipping/returns.
