Free Shipping and "As Is" Strange Happenings

Does this ever happen to you? I like to keep "As Is" items in my Wish List for free shipping days. I was hoping to get the Temp-tations mini loaf pans for gifts. . So, I had this set on my Wish list. It was available "As Is" on Saturday, not available on Sunday, and miraculously available again on Monday. This has happened more than once. Strange, but I'm very suspicious.

When HSN had its free shipping for a few days last week, the headline was "Free Shipping on Everything (exclusions apply)" I laughed!

Yes, this has happened to me also on a couple of occassions. They must have a program that takes some items off for free shipping days.

Yes, this happened to me recently. I wanted an exercise bike, it was available the day before free shipping, on the day of free shipping it was sold out, the day following the free shipping day it was available??

I then went to Walmart.com. They had the same bike, same price as QVC and free shipping. I went with Walmart in the event I did not like it, I can just take it to the store and not have to pay any shipping fees to return it. So I guess QVC did me a favor by not having it available on the free shipping day as I felt more comfortable with being able to return it for free at Walmart ,if need be.

I actually ordered those Temptations pan loaves yesterday, K49168. The price is so cheap no need to buy as-is.

They are on free shipping anyway, just for the item, not for free shipping day.

Maybe folks saved them but then changed their minds, so they came back into inventory.

They are available NOW with free shipping!

@FancyPhillyshopper I've been buying these mini loaves "as is" for a few years. The least expensive has been $11 for the set. The @13.50 they were asking is kind of pricey for me. Oh, and I just checked and they are gone again on "as is." I know it seems silly to quibble over a few dollars, but I'm trying to make an entire set out of Poinsettia, so the other patterns will be superfluous and will be given as gifts.

I think what happens, a lot, on free shipping days; people keep putting items, in their carts, to grab them out of inventory, and basically, "hold them" while they decide.

Especially, with very popular or higher end items, where there isn't a lot of inventory, anyway, it can create a sell out, but, when people don't complete their purchase, suddenly, no sell out!
