A few times, I have noticed that when I have sent a return back using the Q label, a previously unavailable, exact size and color that I have returned is now available. And I mean almost as soon as my package is scanned at the post office. So I am wondering, when a customer is on the waiting list, is it immediately matched up to what is being returned? And if so, is the return flagged so it can quickly be processed to someone who is waiting for that particular match? There goes that line we always hear, "Put yourself on waitlist, IF it becomes available we will send it out to you." I guess that's what the 45 day wait period is. Maybe because the original purchaser has 30 days to return, they extend the other 15 days to process the waitlist customers order. Now that's just my theory, it may not be true, but I think I have received a return or 2 that way. I haven't had a bad or disgusting experience...so far, but I have read some stories on these forums of those that have. Sometimes you get your waitlist like a few hours after you put yourself on wait, and I think that's because someone just let an item sit in their cart too long. Then perhaps it is poofed over to you, and stolen out of someone else's dormant shopping cart. That's happened to me to me with food orders. I'm hoping it happens again soon because I've been waiting for a Rastelli steak order to be confirmed through waitlist. Fingers crossed. Not EVERY return becomes an "AS IS ITEM" I'm sure any company couldn't exist that way. I bought 2 AS IS items since I've been a Q customer. 1. Liquid Knit dress, it was immaculate. 2. Bethlehem Lights Flamless candle, worked perfectly. These are only my experiences. I can't and wouldn't speak for others.

When an item is sold out and weeks later becomes available- I assume you are getting a returned item - possibly worn weeks by another person & returned??? I would not think the manufacturer could restock in that short timeframe. That is concerning & I'm not understanding what the difference is between this & ordering an "as is" item which discloses it is a return or previously worn item selling for a reduced price.

Yup!!!

I have received USED items and it's infuriating and gross! QVC jas no right to send something worn when a customer paid full price and is expecting a new garment!

It depends on the time frame.

If the item becomes available quite soon after being supposedly sold out, I highly doubt it would be a return. There just isn't enough time for QVC to ship and the customer to receive the item and then return it and for QVC to get it back into its stock.

Sometimes when people may pay by check (yes, some still do), they may change their minds or their check may not clear, so their order never gets shipped and will remain in stock. Or sometimes a few people may be lucky and be able to actually cancel their order before it ships.

Sometimes they actually will get new stock in in a short time frame. I know that often when an item is popular and sells out quickly, the vendor is pressed by QVC to see if they can get more stock immediately, or ASAP.

And sometimes--this is my belief--QVC's computers get screwed up and their stock isn't really sold out. They might have more stock than what they thought at the time you tried to order.

But yes, sometimes it actually is a return. By the way, 'As Is' isn't necessarily always a return either.

I'm one who seems to get a lot of "returns." You can tell by the different labels. That's OK - IF the item is in good condition. A few times I have received clothing items with something left in a pocket. I always make sure to inspect clothing items carefully before I wash them. If it's jewelry or something else that's not clothing I wipe it off carefully.

The only time I was really upset with a "return " was a few years ago. We were driving across states to take DS to college. A handbag TSV was coming up. I pre-ordered it so I could take it. It came in plenty of time for me to take. When I opened the box I saw the dreaded "return " label. I thought that was strange because it had yet to be presented as the TSV. OK - so I took it out and there was a huge ink mark across the front. I immediately called. The CS representative was nice and said she would send another right away, but we had to leave in a few days. It came while we were gone- brand new and perfect. But I didn't have it for my trip!

I have not experienced that label, but I'm pretty sure I have received returned items a couple of times without that label. When I return an item I add a post it with what happened like, too small, this was just tried on or never worn. Or I washed this item once and it turned into this terrible mess. lol whatever the issue was I like to explain it so they don't resend a used damaged item out as a return.

Unfortunately that was not the case for me. I was not quick enough to get a Kim Gravel breezy knit shirt when it aired - all sizes/colors sold out quickly. Weeks later saw that my size was available in one color & ordered it. After waiting weeks for it to arrive, I was dismayed to find it was snagged right in front where someone obviously tried on perhaps with jewelry. Now I'm checking availability & find there are more available in my size in many colors. I need to return the damaged one but am concerned the same thing could happen.

i wish QVC would have tags on their merchandise like all other stores. While I appreciate the liberal return policy - I don't want someone else's item that has been worn possibly for weeks. An individual should be able to look in mirror & decide whether they like & are keeping something before wearing out. Placing tags on items might discourage someone from wearing something for an extended period of time & then just changing their mind to get something new.

I was on a waiting list for three higher end, wool sweaters, that I was waiting for and I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived straight from the manufacturer, with tags attached. The other possibillity is that some, customers that were going to send a check don't send it, or their check doesn't clear, The lucky buyer gets the item they wanted and it is brand new. The other possibility, is that someone orders one item and gets something completely different by the time that is all straightened and the item restocked, the buyer might still receive the correct item and it is brand new. Sometimes, if you are waiting you might get a returned/restocked item. Nothing is wrong with a returned or restocked item if the person never wore the item, they just looked at maybe tried it on quickly and decided within three minutes it wasn't the right thing and the tags are attached the item was not worn for for more than five minutes and it is returned promptly. However, sadly i have received restocked /returned items more times that I can count of items that are clearly worn, the tag is ripped off, the extra buttons gone, and the items reeks of cigarettes, or toxic febreze or some strong perfume, or is covered with pet hair or the item is piling and or the item faded from being washed in bleach or kleenex is the pocket NONE of this is ok. I just return these sort of items and it is not okay to sell items that has been worn for days, faded or defective and cleary used.

I just wish all returns are closely looked at and quality control needs to be in place.
