Why is Q pushing using Chrome or Firefox to view the product videos?

It's on every product page I've viewed today?

Do they get a kick back from Google or something?

I use neither for a browser and I have no problem viewing videos.

Sure wish they would focus on their bigger problems for customers.

I do as well with Explorer....LOTS of issues and gliches.

I go to another computer with Firefox and no problems at all.

QVC isn't the only one.

I have been to other shopping sites where I can't get an order to go through, I call C/S and they tell me major issues w/ Internet Explorer....go to Chrome or Firefox.

I can no longer using any system except Firefox or Chrome for our payroll entry. Not compatible any longer.

I have an iPad and I use Safari. I am not changing. If I cannot see something or order something from QVC, it is their loss, not mine.

I do not understand why their system is not compatible with Safari. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I've gotten to where I use the Chrome browser a lot on my MacBook. I use it when I post in the forums here at Q. It seems there are several websites that aren't as friendly with Safari.

@4kitties I agree. At this point, I am not sure whether Firefox has corrected its security issues, and I don't ever trust anything from Google. So curmudgeonly of me, I know, but there it is. I'm sticking with Safari and only using websites that are compatible. There's still plenty to choose from.

I don't know if I'm just lucky, I almost always use Safari, once in a great while, on another device, IE.

I've had no problems, with either.

I had this discussion today in office with IT person, it seems that Chrome is the browser of choice these days, and many biz are making their sites now to be much more compatible and efficiently running with Chrome.

<p>With Safari I have to fool with the settings to view reviews or videos. Try clicking on the 'aA' located on the left side of the address window. Click on Wesite Settings. A black box will appear: Settings for community.qvc.com. Make sure the destop website setting is turned ON. The video will now be visible.

If using a PC, they are better browsers than Internet Explorer. Faster

I did not see that , but over a month ago I complained that all the videos were all blurry....I use Chrome and have google as well... still blurry

Microsoft changed from Internet Explorer to Edge. IE is no longer supported. It still can be used, but it might be why you are having so many problems at QVC and elsewhere.

most of the time i use firefox or microsoft edge to access qvc.

no issues for me watching videos or doing anything else on the site.

They are just referring you to the browsers that are most compatible and the safest to use.

I won't use Google for anything, don't trust them.

I use Edge on my laptop and have no problems on any sites I visit.

The things I learn about reading here! What I’ve noticed these days is that many sites are only designing for the latest and what they see as the greatest. I use my iPhone for most of my computer viewing and if phone gets older or iOS is not kept up to date issues begin to surface.
