I'm with you, but it's a fairly common expression. "I'm going to the store to pick up some milk," for example. You might as well get used to it.

How about when they say "we're all spending more time at home". I always say "thank you captain obvious". 🤪

@LovemesomeQ1979 I'd be willing to bet that the hosts have been instructed to say something about us all ''being in this together''....It's their way of befriending the customer, getting on the same page so to speak - and making the customer feel that ''you can go ahead and buy this because we here at QVC, know what you are going through...but it's ok to '''buy it anyway !""

Relax you will live longer if you dont let something so trivial upset you. Its a common well used expression and totally harmless.

its a calculated way of taking the "money" out of the process, so that the customer isn't actually spending any, and yes it is rather annoying

ETA, I bet that's one of the first phrases that is drilled into new hosts , never ask what did you buy

Uh oh, I use that phrase all the time when I am either shopping or asking someone else to buy something for me. I will often ask my daughter to Pick up things for me. I am picking it up Yup sure am and I have no problem with that.

It used to bug me when hosts would say that X number of items had been "requested." They were ordered! I guess to suggest that items were actually being purchased was just too - something lol.

You really are on edge. I always say I'm picking up something up at the market. It's a normal phrase.

If we want to shop from a shopping channel, I think we also have to expect them to sell themselves - it's their job.

My job wherever I shop is to decide what I need, what I want, how I can pay for it.

Easy for me to say - even as I sit here writing, the TV to my right is black and the remote is not tempting me.

I must say I don't find that phrase annoying as it's a common one we all say. An example of what does annoy me: was watching fashion show with Amy hosting. Was listening to hear info on top being presented when Amy interrupts with "just have to interrupt you to say 500 just flew out of here!" Now THAT'S annoying!

@KKJ You are so right...............happens all the time..........stop giving real information to give the number sold.

That's one of many reasons I don't watch any more.

Number count will never push me to buy - never. (it's a turn off)

Not that one so much as there's one in particular who constantly says "...have been pciked up."
