Watching Dan Hughes do a kitchen show this morning was hilarious! He even laughed at himself - had problem with can opener, mixing in Lock n Lock, getting hot casseroles out of oven, etc. Points for the effort!! Actually a nice break from "foodies" doing the demo!! Love the facial hair, too, Dan!

Did not see the show. Don't quite see Dan being much of a kitchen type of guy,

except for making a pot of coffee or a sandwich. (Maybe as more of a grilling guy...)

Show sounds like it was pretty funny though.

I saw part of his show today and was laughing all the way!! I have always enjoyed him...great sense of humor and timing! Read somewhere that he did do some stand up comedy years ago!!

Love the part when he was using a hand held food beater to demo a Lock and Lock bowl. He said " My mom always let us lick the beaters. And sometimes, she turned the machine off!" I practically fell to the floor laughing!! Great time to hear funny jokes about real life.....

I appreciate his easy-going style and good nature, even though some of the jokes are corny (hey, we're all guilty of corny jokes now and then!), and I think he's a good sport when he finds himself presenting products that aren't exactly his area of expertise.😊

I caught that too! I hadn't been awake for too long, and this joke made me ready to start my day, with a much lighter mood (than I went to bed with).

I also thought he was funny when he couldn't get the electric jar opener functioning to grasp the large pickle jar. Instead of letting this throw him off from his presentation, he started opening a lot of other jars and commenting on their contents. I know a jar of capers when I see it, but Dan had to read the label.

I agree. Dan Hughes is a national treasure. He divides the household labor between his dear wife and himelf. Dan prides himself on cleaning, doing yard work and outdoor decorating while his wife will do the cooking and laundry. Dan has expressed many times he is color blind and his wife buys his clothes for him and picks out his outfits. He has a Midwestern set of values and has admitted many times he is not good in the kitchen or with high tech items like many of us over 50. He is like a fish out of water in the kitchen !

I always enjoy Dan's shows....he's so geniuine, has a good sense of humor and before the pandemic he would always interact well with the vendors on the set, and allow them to speak and demonstrate their products, and share their expertise, and he also added good input about the product as well. And I love him as a solo host too..... great kitchen show!....I enjoyed this better than ITKWD or ITKWM...

Old fashioned Indiana values dont die. Dan was brought up properly to respect others. Some of the hosts cant see beyond their own ego.

I never recall Kathy Levine doing one. Can anyone confirm ? I do remember Bob Bowersox telling us he created a salmon recipe for Kathy to do at home. Kathy was never much of a cook. she had the wealth and means to dine out 6 days a week !

@Reever Kathy was selling one of those apple peelers that clip on the counter top and twirl your apple around to skin it. It was a disaster.

Wish I could have seen it! Love DH! We have HULU so no QVC to watch. Dan did a steamer years ago and "steamed" his pant leg along with his leg He made a jok about it saying "that is going to leave such a mark!" He is such a cool host!
