Feels like old school QVC

I'm watching David try to cook burgers and waffles all alone while he's selling and it reminds me of old school QVC, especially late night QVC and even CVN, where they didn't have as many vendor guests.

Next up: Mike Rowe selling dolls and cat toys.

@Alison Wonderland Yes! Years ago I saw an interview with Mike Rowe and they showed a clip of him selling that cheesy capodimonte stuff! He was laughing like crazy and said he was embarrassed about seling that stuff! I remember my mom actually bought a piece of that.

Tonight watching David solo made me realize what a good salesman he really is!

With all the cookbooks he's written, vendors, happy dance, etc. I seemed to forgotten that!

He did a good job!!! 😊😊

@homedecor1 I have often said they never need two people selling together , they just talk over each other.they can just keep it this way it would be fine with me.

Hi, @Alison Wonderland ! I wonder if this situation will make the powers that be wonder if they need all the gimmicks to make sales - social hosts, vendor reps, etc. I'm not buying any more or any less, not that I bought that much to begin with anymore. Certainly, with repeats on Q2, no need to watch there unless I miss what I want to see on the main channel. Perhaps, I'm just realizing I don't want that much what they are offering anymore. Although, I will say, the Pat Nash Aria in Beautiful Girl is worth the investment-first thing of this nature I've bought in a while! LOL!

A host and a vendor rep presenting one item for every item has been bad policy. At times you need a second person but recently the host just stands there repeating what the rep has said or what the producer tells them to say or the latest Q card info. Also happy then Huggy kissy stuff is gone.

for some products I see the point of a rep, like computer stuff, or makeup

but for Q's own lines we don't

I agree the Q has been MUCH more watchable. Less really is more. I have been telling my husband for years I remember when the hosts had to do the homework and know their product. Most of them do, must of US know those products although I would never pretend I could do their job, I know I could not.

While I am sad we are all in the situation we are in, I truly am enjoying watching QVC for the first time in a long time.

I hope they are listening.

Those Mike Rowe QVC hosting programs are on You Tube and are hilarious....the doll, Noah's Ark, and the cat toy....LOL!!!

I've been watching (and buying) the Q for years and must say I prefer this way--or old-school way better. Didn't care for the slumber party format with Shawn and all the ladies lounging on the sofa in their jammies & glasses of wine.

Was just thinking the same yesterday. I rarely watch QVC, but have been watching more lately...break from the never ending news.

Have seen that some of the hosts are acting more businesslike and in a serious mode. Have never considered QVC entertainment, there are too many other channels for entertaining. For me, it is strictly a commerce channel. They sell - I need or want - I buy.

I nominate for a vote from QVC viewers

***plans for future programming ***

one host, no social media person

no talking when mouth is chewing

one bite of food, no stuffing mouths of food products

no silliness or childish behavior

no long drawnout family stories

Hi, Alison! Your post cracked me up! I've been watching since the CVN days, and at '63', I remember everything you're talking about! I actually bought a Capodimonte floral piece for my mom. It suited her beautiful 80's style home perfectly. I remember being so proud to point out the thumb prints left by the artist who crafted it ~ one of the key selling points! ; ) Living in a tiny mountain town with two young kids, CVN was a dream come true for me! We had no decent stores nearby. My eldest, (age '7' at the time), and I made up a little jingle about one of the hosts, Discount Dan. Remember him? He was great! When the kids' shows weren't on, CVN was usually running in the background. I think one of my first purchases was the Pound Puppy doghouse that came with the Mama Pound Puppy and her pups. Remember the Duck Phone that quacked instead of ringing? Yep, bought it!!! Thanks for taking me back to the good ol' days! (((HUGS))) and prayers for you and everyone. Take care and God Bless. Profits inevitably will decline. Many people are restricting purchases to "essential items only".

Profits inevitably will decline. Many people are restricting purchases to "essential items only".

Yes, the numbers won't indicate how customers feel about the changes for quite awhile. People may be buying more because they're home, but they're also more cautious with money now.

Also, it will take some time for people who became disillusioned with QVC to discover that it's much more watchable now. I think customers who stopped watching (or started watching less) may start to drift back. But that will take some time too.
