Elbow kissing

Change is sometimes good but not the path that got us here. Nevertheless...many of us have objected to vendor/host excessive kissing - hugging. Dennis got the memo and reminded Amy...& MaryBeth earlier.

Nice to see more sensible behavior. Hope it 'sticks'.

I am surprised how cavalier the hosts are with this whole distancing thing due to the virus. AS was coughing tonight and they still stand way too close to each other. The Q should really halt those food shows for awhile. I guess they won't be happy until they have to shut the whole place down.

IMO, a verbal greeting is all that's necessary. Never did understand all the physical contact.

I don't get it either. Just say hello and be done with it. No need to go from handshake to elbow bump, but that's my feeling on it. If someone tried to elbow bump me now, I'd say no thanks.

All of the kissy huggy stuff was to create a feeling of well being and welcome all...we like this person and it is good to love the product....and order! I do not even like the elbow bump....kind of odd IMO. A pleasant hello, love having you here would be just fine with me.

It should have never started in the first place. Could you imagine walking into someone's office to conduct business and they offer you some sort hug or kiss? Gross.

My experience living in the Southwest and in South America...everyone hugs everyone as a 'hello' and 'goodby'. Sometimes there is a kiss on the cheek, but if you know someone...relative or friend - you will get hugged. It is not as common when meeting someone for the first time though...

Recently I have seen the elbow touch and just yesterday saw, the toe touch. Certainly better methods during these days...

I totally agree with all that posted that they never did like all the kissing, it was never necessary or a good idea. Can't believe QVC hasn't received more complaints about it. Good time to stop now. A verbal greeting is all that is needed and less annnoying to viewers. "Hello, welcome to QVC. Nice to see you."

I agree 100%. Some hosts want you to think every vendor is their best friend. I think that is why the kissing and hugging started back in the day.

I'm glad to see they stopped all the PDA, it was a little much, Basso in particular. And why do the hosts, who are clearly sick, come to work to spread it?! Stay home!!! Shame on you Q if you don't advise people to stay home when they're I'll!! Support your staff!!

Hugs and cheek kisses between host and vendors has never bothered me. Just that small display of PDA makes me feel like I am joining 'friends' for a conversation. Showing warmth and kindness to each other is not a bad thing in my book.
