Going by the time of your post, I think I know who you're talking about. That's why I wasn't watching! One of the best gifts QVC ever gave me was posting the hosts for each show. Saves me a lot of time.

Rachel B. w/Lori. Rachel does this baby talk voice that's ridiculous. Can't remember the last time I watched her as a host but she didn't act like that. Then I saw that Halo stint they did when they charge a dead battery and scream and jump up and down. Too much.

Talk to me like the adult I am. Lori I expect the same "you guys" which gets too much at times, but today it's "hello, hello, hello" over and over.

I haven't heard it on QVC but I've heard some grown woman baby talk. Psychologists say it makes a woman appear to lack courage and conviction and sends this mesage .... do not challenge me because I'm vulnerable. (most explanations are over generalizations but its something baby-talkers should think about)

Yeah, an adult woman baby talking and then we wonder why we are not taken seriously. RB IMO is selfserving , like everyone of the hosts on QVC, you gotta know that and consider that when they present, that's their job. Can you imagine they all graduated from college, the Q requires it.

I agree with your evaluation of that tactic. I feel that way too with Renee G.'s "no more wiggle, no more jiggle" chant and demonstration. We (women) are better than that.

The hosts obviously are being trained to behave like this. From grown men making yum yum faces now to Rachel talking like this. Its an insult to mature adults who want professionalism from their sales staff. And it wasnt lost on me Tova (perhaps the most dignified of female entrepeneurs got slighted again on International Womens Day. She was not on air).

@Reever I agree, but in all fairness, Tova's no spring chicken. Many people, especially older ones, are not flying, exposing themselves to crowds, shared air on flights, etc. She may also just have had a previous commitment.

Didn't have to look at the schedule. Knew immediately which person you were referring to; baby talk is that person's norm-wish that person didn't host so many shows I am otherwise interested in...can we also talk about loving to shorten people's names? I am doing more and more online watching after the fact if in the recently on air there was something I may be interested in, rather than watching the entire show.
