QVC has been over the air (here in SE Michigan) for at least 4 years. I can't remember when I saw HSN and HSN2 . I just discovered ShopHQ, JTV and the Liquidation channel

You can always watch on the computer. And I don't have cable just to get the shopping channels. At one time that would have been true but no longer.

I've had both channels on over the air in my area for 5 years..the dot channel programming changes frequently & it isnt the same everywhere so if the Q needs to be saved, over the air isn't going to do it.

For my part, QVC is on their own. I have bigger things going on than worrying about QVC. QVC need to get smart and try to compete in today's marketplace.

The only way I watch TV these days is on an antenna. I have stopped and looked, but then shortly move on to more interesting programming. If QVC had started out the way they are today, way back when, I would not have spent near the amount of money I did. It just is not interesting any more.

When they first began they explained everything so when it came to you 2 weeks later you knew what to expect. They said to make notes about your purchase so you could use it.

Now, we get to hear about thier children, and what other fantastic things they do, but the item is still a mystery. The ladies would hold on to a tape measue and tell you each measurement of an article of clothing so you knew if a medium really was a medium or if it leaned towards a large. Now, it's just hope for the best.

I've got the ability to watch, I just choose not to. I know change is necessary for a company to grow, but change for the sake of change is a waste. I was much better 30 years ago because it was informative, not just jabber. It's nice they have children and are proud of them, but I'm not in the market to buy a child.

Yes!

And one of my pet peeves being not showing and describing colors, along with sizing. If an item has a navy blue or black background is very important to me, but it's often not obvious on TV or the website.

Ingredient lists are another missing category.

I still think the shopping channels have a unique opportunity to showcase their products. They just don't seem to be able to use that along with migrating to a more modern way of shopping. Walmart and Target seem to be a doing a good job of transitioning.

It's all about where a person lives. If an affiliate in your area decides to broadcast the signal from QVC, and the broadcast is strong enough for your TV's receiver to pick up, you get it.

Switching from analogue to digital broadcasting allows your local stations to broadcast many more TV channels in the same (is it bandwidth?) bandwidth they used to use for just one channel.

So we who use antenna have many more viewing choices now.

I don't have cable or satellite, never did.

I first picked up HSN over the air in 1990. QVC was available to me in 2013 or 14. I now get QVC on two different channels broadcasting from two different counties, and also get QVC2.

Well thanks for the heads up. I had both of them OTA before but suddenly lost them. I guess I can give my TV another scan to see if they are being broadcast again in my area, Maryland.

QVC will have to save itself. They are struggling to retain their current customers (in millions of homes already), so I can’t see the antenna crowd feeling much different about slow shipping and poor quality control. And I do hope QVC can get back on track. Months of web banner and email apologies for shipping problems is bad for business regardless of how one views the channel.

@depglass You can get QVC and HSN many ways. Roku and Amazon fire stick. You can get it on Alexa if you have a show which they are selling today. You can get many things now without cable. That is why they are losing so many customers.

All those other options require WiFi, making over the air TVreception the only choice for some.
