I would like to say how much Nancy has improved!!! OMG, for the 1st yr she was on, I couldn't stand to see/hear her. I have caught her lately & she has improved 150%. She gives great details, no stammering & crazy talking like she used to do. I am impressed!!

Nope, sorry. Still not impressed. She still stammers, talks too fast and just her voice goes right thru me. I haven't been able to watch QVC this am because she seems to be the only one working today and her voice just gets to me. I think she is a terrible host and she should take her new Gem degree and work behind the scenes IMO

I like Nancy as a host -- I don't remember seeing her when I didn't like her. I've watched her this morning and it's almost like two people watching the same person see and hear totally different things. I disagree totally with the first poster (not the OP). I did not hear her stammer, I do not think she talks too fast, and she demonstrates knowledge about what she's presenting. Everyone fusses about other hosts giggling, getting involved in personal stories, etc. etc. etc. I've never seen Nancy do any of those things. She seems to have a great personality, and it comes across on air. That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it!

I've tried many times to watch and like her, but she grates on my last nerve. Her voice could crack rocks.

Nancy and Gabrielle have the worst voices on the Q.....they seen to shriek ....it just grates through my soul.....it is the most disturbing in the wee hours when there is so much silence in the home ....till they come on....

They are good Hosts ....I just wish they would go through voice moderation...actually some of the other lady Hosts would do well to take that training, too....

I've always liked Nancy. Right from the very beginning. And her voice (and Gabrielle's) doesn't bother me at all. I see nothing wrong with either of them.

When I finally heard the story of what Nancy was going through during her first year at QVC, I almost couldn't believe she could stand up let alone show up for work. I do understand people almost always have to grow into jobs and I think Nancy has done that admirably.

I must be tone deaf. I've never noticed anything offensive with the voices of any of the hosts, certainly not to the extent that it would "grate through my soul"! I'm missing something here, I believe.

I don't care for Nancy's hosting style. She seems like she is trying too hard. When she is hosting, I end up changing the channel.

I enjoy Nancy very, very much. She always seems so happy to me. And I think she is a really classy, beautiful lady.

I'm missing the same thing. It fails to annoy me when they need nail fills, wear band-aids, try on shoes without slipperettes or have bad hair days. They're just people doing a day's work, and I don't have a panic attack when my friends or workmates have zits.

When she first came on at nights I did not like her either, but none of us knew what she was going through. She had just been diagnosed with breast cancer, so with the treatments, new job, having just adopted a baby and away from her and family. I am glad things are working out for her. I like her and respect her for sticking it out. So that goes to show these hosts go through a lot. All of them are not well and in pain while they are doing their jobs. They have to smile and act excited, so give them a break.

I have to agree....... i do think she does well in jewelry shows....but as far as the other programs i feel she is just too "scattered"

I've already posted that I like Nancy, but it had slipped my mind what she has been through. We never know what any of these people have weighing on them when they have to come on air, smile, sell, and act happy. If they don't quite measure up to the extremely high standards of some people, maybe those people ought to give that job a try. I know my limitations, and I couldn't do it in a million years.

I owned a jewelry business for a number of years, and did fashion and jewelry shows for many women's groups. Sometimes I had some very tough issues going on in my private life, but when I got up in front of 30-40 women, I could not let them see that. It was NOT easy... in fact, one of my colleagues at the time, knowing what I was going through, said it was like a curtain went up when I got in front of a group - my true feelings were never seen, but it can be exhausting to have to do that on a regular basis.

So maybe it would be nice to cut some of them a little slack once in a while - none of us are perfect.

At least Nancy has stopped singing so much during presentations. She always looks nice, and (IMO appropriately) dressed.

Gabrielle has been through a voice over. She's definitely not sounding the same as she did even as recently as a year ago.

I rarely comment on threads about hosts, other than to offer the things I appreciate.

I've noticed in the threads about Nancy, her voice is often mentioned as the problem. I have to say, regretfully, that's the main reason I can't watch her. Perhaps, if she wanted, she could learn to lower the pitch and modify the sound a bit -- but perhaps she doesn't want to, and that's fine. Maybe she doesn't need to, maybe a few of us are just sensitive to the pitch or timbre.

I remember reading an article about a woman whose epileptic seizures were triggered by Mary Hart's voice (the former host of Entertainment Tonight). Yet, obviously, her voice didn't cause a problem for the overwhelming majority of viewers.

I think it's a personal thing, the way our ears hear a voice and the way our brain interprets it. I'm not that bothered by most voices on tv, but I've been surprised to find there are just a few that are so irritating to my ear that I actually have to change the channel.

So, maybe other people's ears and brains have a problem processing certain voices, too.

She has improved. I can actually watch her present an item without grabing for the remote as soon as I see her.
