Macy's website was breached in October, with hackers swiping information on some customers as they shopped online, according to the retailer.

"We are aware of a highly sophisticated and targeted data security incident related to macys.com that affected a small number of customers during a one-week period in October," the company said in an email. "Affected customers have been notified and will receive additional information, including instructions on how to enroll in consumer protection services at no cost."

The customer information potentially exposed in the cyberattack include name, address, phone number, email address, credit card number and security code, the retailer said.

I don't know about you, but I'm going a little nuts watching all around me getting out of the car in parking lots, looking for suspicious people in crowds, paying attention to bad/speeding drivers, checking my accounts every day for over charges or lack of promised refunds, growing eyes in the back of my head to stay aware and keep up with which stores/sites, etc. are getting hacked and did it affect me.

It's exhausting!!

Big thanks @BalletBabe , for the info. I hadn't heard a peep about this incident. In fact, was going to head over there just now to browse the shoes. I like their INC jeans too.

I remember when checks came out and my Dad paid cash and would not use checks. CC didn,t exist. My Dad paid cash for his first house, 11,000 in San Francisco. No computers, no CC, simpler life.

No Problem: Correction--I did get a notice, but it wwas from Norton my anti virus.

@qvcaddition When DH and I got married and flew to our honeymoon destination we did not have credit cards either...holy smokes, what a nightmare. We barely were allowed to get our rental car. We were in the airport for well over an hour trying to convince them we would not steal the car....we wanted to pay cash, and in the end we were allowed to take the car, but obviously did not know we needed a credit card.......times have changed for sure.

@Shanus I walk everyday about 3 to 5 miles a day. About 2 months ago I got attacked. A guy was following me in a car and jumped out and came up behind me. Little did he know what a surprise he was in for. I had pepper spray in my right hand, a taser in my left and a body alarm on. It was 4 in the afternoon and someone was cooking out in their front yard and saw the whole thing. I never heard the car as I had ear buds in. Check with your state to see if a stun gun is legal to carry, if it is not, I highly recommend pepper spray and a alarm. I bought my pepper spray and alarms at HSN. They are pretty with glitter and do not look like they are dangerous. Please anyone that reads this carry protection at all times. The pepper spray saved me as it knocked him down. The officer that showed up was so impressed about how prepared I was. Don't think your safe because it is daylight either.

Many years ago, I had a young guy who was following me in the parking lot of Jewelcor. He was hiding behind cars thinking I wouldn't see him. I did.

When he got closer, I held up my can of Pepper Spray aimed towards him and he ran off. I didn't have to use it. Just the fact that he knew I had it scared him.

Last Christmas season, my best friend's husband ( Gene) was attacked in the Mall parking lot by some guy who wanted to rob him. What he got for his effort was his a** beat. He was left lying between two parked cars. Gene just left him there and drove away. Didn't even call the police. I would have reported it.

Lets be careful out there, especially this time of the year. Watch your back, your cash and your CC.

@Carmie Amen to that! I had just bought the stun gun about a week before. He was in bad shape after the spray and the gun. THey are only like $22.00 at Amazon. I highly recommend if your state allows it. The scary thing, I believe he was going to throw me in the car as it was running and in the middle of the street. I was so shook up that I never saw the car. I am now walking at the airport as I have a friend that works on his plane everyday and it is secured and no one can get in without a card. The park is good, but I avoid it as the snow birds are here, and everyone wants to talk. I move fast to get my heart rate up and I don't want to stop. I have a feeling he was following me for days, but I have no way to know for sure. .
