They're going to need to dramatically improve their shipping game if they want to attract and retain any new customers - of any age! Youngsters are shopping on Amazon - HELLO!!! If QVC manages to attract an Amazon customer to order something and they have to wait - WEEKS! - to receive it, then PAY to return it when/if it doesn't fit and wait WEEKS! for a refund - that will be their last order from THAT customer.

Many long-time Q shoppers are sticking around because we have become loyal to a proprietary brand. I would say these customers are QVC's current bread and butter.

I keep reading the various post referencing QVC is trying to attract the younger generation. Looking at the products QVC sells what exactly, in your opinion, would the younger generation be interested in other than possibly clothes and shoes. Most of the purses they sell I could not have afforded when I was young. As for perfume/make-up the same. I

Since most are dual income workers their time is limited so most would be available to watch only on the week-end. When I worked my week-ends were spent "catching" up. Laundry, grocery shopping, etc. Sunday's were reserved for football and family.

Didn't leave me a lot of free time.

I have even seen more apparel and shoes offered for men. Stiff competition is influencing change. This is happening across the board in retail, not just here at The Q. I applaud their efforts, but only time will tell if this particular strategy is successful or not. Change is seldom easy.

~~~All we need is LOVE💖
while 'younger' is a relative term, these days, i take it to mean millennials.
if that is a new target market that they want to go after, then they would need to get a whole new team of buyers for fashion and hosts to present them.
the bulk of clothes and shoes they currently have, don't appeal to 25 year old women. and paying for shipping in that age category is as popular as rotary phones. never mind waiting over week to have something delivered. huh? what? LOL
i'm over 50 and don't find the bulk of the current clothes and shoes offered, appealing.
there are several etailers that only carry fashion for that age group. one that i know of, started across the pond and got so many requests from here, that they now have a fulfillment center in this country. average price of clothes is $30-35 and yes, free shipping.
i think qvc should have apparel for all age groups. they just need to figure out how to reach that age group in major numbers and update (as in lessen) the current shipping cost structure and delivery times to be free and delivered in 3 days or less.
From everything I see in the media regarding on-line shopping, I think most of the "younger generation" don't watch shopping channels. They just look up the app of their favorite retailer and purchase that way. My 17 year old granddaughter shops on-line and so does my husband. I'm still a QVC fan, and although I don't purchase a ton, I enjoy watching the presentations. I like to see what the clothes will look like on a real person.
I do believe that QVC needs to up their game in regards to shipping, especially the shipping charges and length of time to get the items to us. I ordered from Amazon last night and my items came this afternoon. And the shipping was free, with free returns on most items. That's a huge plus for me. I hesitate to buy clothing from QVC because the shipping/return shipping costs really add up. So, I hope they improve there.😊
Maybe, the desktop IS their parents. Lol. Also, surprising is they shop in brick and mortar stores, but for this instant gratification group, I guess they want their items immediately.
Another concept I only saw a few times on the Q but thoroughly enjoyed was live music concerts from well-known musicians (Willie Nelson,Train) who sold their merchandise. It was very fun. FUN. FUN. FUN.
I don't think anything QVC is doing these days will attract younger shoppers, especially if they didn't grow up in a home where QVC was on and they're familiar with it. Many teens & twenty-somethings are more likely to buy things that are recommended to them by social media influencers and they will shop where they go, whether it's brick and mortar or online.
And the host presentations, well if sometimes me as a 43 year-old can't sit and watch for long, I doubt someone twenty years plus younger than me will. Especially when they start trotting the old chesnuts (Manhattan/Hamptons/LA/Aspen/Paris/Italy/Oprah/Amal/etc.) to sell fashion.
