What is liquid knit? If it is that popular and every women is asking Susan about it why have I not seen it in the brick and mortar stores?

I purchased a clearance set which included a liquid knit top and printed chiffon vest. I bought it for the vest which is lovely, but I donated the top—I can’t quite explain why, but it didn’t feel like a modern fabric to me, very slinky, kind of heavy. I hated it but a lot of people must like it.

Liquid knit is Susan's own name for her polyester fabric.

It's just polyester. There are actually multiple versions of it, too. I have some I like and some I dont.

@queen75What I know about the liquid knit is that it wears better than any other polyester I've ever owned whether I compare it to cheaper or more expesnive. I tend to buy it for basic tops which I want to be able to wear often and for many years. In the long run that means her pricesa re cheaper than the really cheap stuff elsewhere which lasts a season or two. I have not bought any liquid knit bottoms.

I can't compare her poly to any of the other QVC designers, but U know there's lots of it in several other popular brands.

I adore liquid knit.....and I own many, many of SG's designs. Mostly tops, but a few pairs of pant also. Love the easy care and the fact that it never looks wrinkled or messy. SG's my favorite QVC vendor.

What I like best about liquid knit (and other poly fabrics) .... it's perfect for layering. NOTHING clings to it.

It's a thin fabric and slippery fabric. No bulk under other tops or sweaters. I almost always wear liquid knit (or other poly fabric) under my LOGO.

I don't like liquid knit bottoms - even her "pants weight" liquid knit is too flimsy for my taste for a pants fabric . I prefer her lustra knit pants.

@SeaMaidenI assume you've had it worn it, and know what you think is true. So mAny anti-S usany [osters have nevert even worn Susan - I hope you're not one of them because I disagree with you based on my own experience. Way better poly than, for example, some I've had from big name designers who run their own stores, sell in upscale department stores, etc.

I'll go with my own experiences.when I buy my polyester.

Reinvention of the name for polyester ...makes it sound more updated than a re-do of a 70's fabric....

@Lorik62 The tops I see in the stores are paper thin and the prices are ridiculously high. Those tops can't come close to the quality of Susan's. Susan's tops will out live all of us. They're fabulous.

I have tops in the liquid knit and some are years old and still look great.

I have had to throw away some that were stained. I had a white tank that I wore all the time and it got mysterious stains that looked like grease. They would never come out, so I had to toss it.

I also have to save the tops for winter, because I find them to be warm. The LK does not breathe and I still get hot flashes.

My only complaint is that it is not ‘literally liquid.’ Lol. It would be quite the conversation piece if it were.

Her liquid knits last forever. Good quality, sewn beautifully, does not pill, saturated colors. I actually have some of her original tops that look like new. You simply can not kill them! LOL

@ALRATIBA Everything you said here is true. i stopped buying her slacks because for some reason no matter what size I purchase, they're just too big in the waist for me and like you said they're too flimsy. i did find a fabulous pair of skinny dress pants from Bob Mackie. they're substantial and fit perfectly. Item number is A365988. Only bad thing I was only able to purchase the black pair. The other two colors I just didn't like. If he would have offered grey and beige and Khaki, I would have ordered all colors too. I'm keeping an eye out to see if he brings them back in more wearable colors. They're the best I've gotten from QVC so far.

Thanks for the info about the Mackie skinny pants. I have his wide leg, and they too are a bit too flimsy. I have to wear a pants liner under them. I just won't wear pants that show the outline of bones of my knees when I walk!

I was wondering about his new slim leg ... I'll give them a try.

ETA: I just looked at the Mackie pants ... one problem is that there are pockets. Since it will have to have the pockets removed ... need to wait until they are marked down quite a bit. HATE pants with pockets.

@ALRATIBA You're welcome. Just have to tell you when I received them in the bag I thought there were 2 pairs in there. These pants have weight to them. you don't have to worry about them being flimsy.

It isn't a luxury fabric in my opinion. It is polyester and spandex. It bounces especially the pants. I personally think it is cheap looking and yes I have purchased it. I also purchased the chiffon tops with liquid knit tank tops. They hung below the chiffon top and the armholes were huge. I tossed the tank top and purchased another nicer one at Dillard's. They sell a ton of liquid knit but I just don't care for it. Most department stores sell some form of poly/spandex, they just don't call it liquid knit.
