Courtney Getting Married

I was watching IKWD this morning and they said that Courtney is getting married and wants to share the experience with QVC customers. Does anybody know what that means? Using Togather as a wedding registry was mentioned although I doubt that Courtney would be soliciting gifts in that way but maybe the Q wants brides to start doing this?

As I understand it, she's getting married September 20. Each Monday QVC will post a video and a poll so we can help her choose decorations, flowers, favors, bridesmaids' gifts, etc. Starting tomorrow, you can register to have an exclusive video of her wedding sent to you when it's over. I hope she'll get to take some time off to prepare before her big day! I'm sure she'll be gone AFTER the wedding for her honeymoon, but more and more young couples I know are postponing it for a better time for them.

I don't think "we" will be invited to the wedding itself, so I'm sure she doesn't expect gifts. Although some may wish to send her a card at QVC!

She has already talked about her wedding so much. I won't be
""following"" it. QVC is using anything now to get attention and sales.

From what I've seen of her, I'm sure she's thrilled with the whole idea! She's a sort of new host who is getting A LOT of attention right now!

could be but that is on her own terms, we don't know

boss comes to you and says blog about your wedding for us to make money, that is a different thing

If she asks for your picks on flowers, earrings etc. Don't waste your time. Shawn did all that and never picked anything we picked. Maybe they should keep it a little more personal. I think the pictures after is all anyone needs.

I am sure that QVC makes it difficult for anyone to have a lifetime event without using it to drum up interest and thus sales.

I've enjoyed hearing about Gabrielle's baby boy and Amy's little girl. A wedding is a wonderful event and I hope that Courtney and her fiancee will have the most wonderful life together, but I don't see any need for us to be involved. It's not our wedding! I would like to see photos of the event, but I don't plan to vote on anything.

I think it's totally wrong for QVC to try to involve their customers in something that is really a very private, personal event. These people, no matter how wonderful, are not our friends and we are remarkably insignificant part of their lives.

Courtney has already talked enough about their home and their life together. I don't need to hear about the upcoming wedding. I think it is wrong for QVC to try to involve their customers in these events. I would much rather see new products, new vendors, etc. I won't take the time to look up anything regarding Courtney's wedding. I'm sure it is all planned anyway since it is in Sept.

She seems like an "attention seeker" so I would also think she is thrilled with the idea. She has been talking about her fiance' forever, their home and then their wedding. Enough already.

As I recall from the Insider Magazine you get to vote on all sorts of things such as his ""ring"". As if that wasn't decided a long time ago. No one needs to know anything about her wedding IMO. A few pictures when she gets back would be suffice. But the formula seems to work. Hosts such as Shawn & Amy and soon Courtney have more ""likes"" on their facebook pages than many senior popular hosts. So grab your ""'Elsa braid"" and you could be a bridesmaid(LOL)!!

The Q must think this will eventually translate into DOLLARS! They must honestly think that their audience is so in need of a life that they will give one to them! Not very complimentary! If the Q can draw their audience into a "game" of choose Courtney's flowers, favors. rings, etc., they feel their audience will form some kind of pathetic attachment to this host. Does not speak highly of the Q, the host and the paying customer! I have never commented on a host, I do not watch the Q much at all; however, if I were to, I would not watch this particular host. I have a daughter close to her age. She, nor do any of her friends, talk or act like her in any way, shape form or manner. They are all in graduate school (in universities all over the country) & have zero in common with the vacuous Courtney. I would hate to think what it said about me & my husband if our daughter had turned out like that!

If people on the Gamers threads can spend hours thinking of a flower that begins with D, I'm sure there are people who want to play pretend choose the wedding flowers for Courtney. There's no harm in it.
