Jill's Last Show

Jill's last show will be June 12th at 10:00 p.m. She said it will be called Friends and Favorites. Her family will not be making an appearance.

This came from Jill on her social media. People were asking about her last show time and if her family would be there.

Sorry to hear that it's on so late. I would like to have seen it. Oh well. I wish her the very, very best and will definitely miss her! She's a great host!

Hope Carolyn Pollack will be one of the guests. They have been friends since Jill first began at QVC. Carolyn was one of Jill's bridesmaids. Lots of memories over the years.

Her family will not be seen on her sendoff show? More reason why I think her contract, for whatever reason, was not renewed.

@queendiva. They were just there for her 25th anniversary not that long ago.

However, I also believe it was not her idea to leave.

It's so odd & I just can't help speculating. I know someone will say it's none of my business...and it's not. It's just that you feel like you know the long time qvc hosts & you can't help but be curious about them. At least that's how I feel...especially about Jill since she did a complete 180 since her anniversary show in December when she said she'd be at qvc for a long time. I find it so hard to believe they'd let her go. Oh well🤔

Good - I guess she'll be following ITKWD and they are fast friends, started about the same time. I do think it was her decision. Things change, the scale tips.

Not too long ago (not that they are comparable in their scope, in any way, but they're both jobs) I held a post and told a co-worker that I'd be there "the next hundred years".

Well, guess what? There was a change in the dynamic and suddenly it wasn't worth it. I quit. I'm glad I did, BTW.

Although I don’t watch Q anymore, I remember Jill, thought she was a good host and knew her products. Remember her stint on Q in England, great.

While my family has always been supportive of my ventures, NO way would they ever want to do TV I don’t think anything particular needs to be read into that.

I guess it's difficult for some to believe the reasons Jill gave for leaving because they don't like change. I think Jill is leaving QVC in good standing and I also think it was her decision to go. I don't think she was forced out. She joined QVC when she was 25 and she turned 50 last year. That's a long time to work for one company by today's standard. I wish her happiness in the next chapter of her life.

Having her home show shoved to Q2 must have been disheartening for Jill. Her real love is silver jewelry and very little of that is shown now too. I can see why she might like to take her career in another direction. I have enjoyed her as a host and will miss her.

I don't mean odd that her family won't be there. I mean odd that she's leaving after what she said just a few months ago. But Sweetbay magnolia, you're right. Things can change very quickly!

My two-cents' worth:

Positioning Jill's final show late on a Wednesday night will allow David Venable to be part of the festivities since it will take place right after ITKWD; they began together, remain close, and likely will find it fun to send her off into the sunset together.
This timeslot probably also gives many of the other long-time hosts a chance to join in because one of them will likely be presenting the TSV shortly thereafter and the rest will likely have free time since they rarely host during the really late and overnight hours. The timing is also nice for any vendors who may want to stop by, again due to the fact that the TSV is typically presented for most of or all of that late/early midnight hour that will follow, which means minimal participation requirements for multiple vendors.
As others have noted, there's no need for a big family extravaganza since Jill just got to experience that as part of her anniversary show a few months ago (and I wouldn't be surprised if her family didn't want to do something similar again).

Obviously, this is somewhat speculative, but I feel that it has a basis in practicality, which is something Jill prizes. Regardless, I'm sure it will all be enjoyable...

She seems to be someone who values and respects the privacy of her family. I admire her for that.
