May have to go back to catalog and brick and mortar shopping

Looks like the powers that be at QVC do not like feelings we have about certain show hosts, even though they love to get our money; so...back to catalogs where I don't have to watch/listen to certain hosts. I am definitely going to be more choosey about what I watch and about ordering. Other social media sites do not isolate their on-air personalities from praise/criticism, so why will QVC management not listen to its long-time customer opinions about what they like and do not like about show hosts? All we want is more genuine and kind hosts who are more interested in intelligently presenting merchandise than idle chit chat and watching themselves on camera. The more veteran show hosts have never gotten this way. I sure hope this does not get zapped also.

@just wonder @I have to shop elsewhere for a different reason but if more people don’t start soon there will be nothing left of the stores with doors.I am finding that stores are streamlining their inventory so much that they no longer carry products I purchased.I now have to order online and it just sets the ball in motion for me to do that more frequently.

Many retail stores now serve as warehouses so they can fulfill regional online orders more quickly. A store manager told me this about the local clothing/accessory store he manages. They may have a dress in 6 sizes but only have 2 on the rack—the others are pulled for online orders.

I agree. I am having a hard time with the fit of many items and the fabric. I also am tired of the few Host's they push on us.

I hear ya....and I tried that Even add going to the mall, but I would mentally compare everything to the Q's selection and the quality, price point, and fit just wasn't there. Of course, that can't be said for everything, but enough in my experience to keep shopping at the Q

For every 100 customers who can't stand a particular host, there could be twice as many or more that DO like that particular host.

QVC bases the hosts on sales, that's their bottom line and rightfully so, not because of some opinions of that particular host.

The very best (maybe the only?) way to voice your opinion is with your $$$. If enough customers shop elsewhere they are bound to take notice and make changes.

Exactly! @KingstonsMom

We have to remember that we on these forums are but a drop in the bucket compared to the 95 million households or so that QVC is in.

For example:

A host that may drive me crazy, and I refuse to purchase from, might just be pulling in huge sales numbers. So the 30 hearts I got on my thread complaining about him doesn't really matter much in the big scheme of things.

Rarely change the channel, but earlier today what I saw was a host who appeared to be auditioning for a movie role rather than selling products. If I hadn't seen the models, I could have thought the program was all about selling herself.

Slowly, becoming more and more obnoxious over time, I wonder if this person is coached to act this way or has become overly confident in front of the camera? She wasn't this way several years ago.

I've seen many complaints here over time, most taken down by mods, some petty and mean, some very worthy of attention, but I think QVC must see all of them as petty and mean and dismisses them.

I'm sure QVC has sales trainers who teach "tricks" to sell more. One of them might be to become more animated, outgoing, friendly, and engaging. That might work on some of them because they know how to carry it off naturally. For others, it comes across as I said above...auditioning for a role.

A few others have become, slick, practiced, fast talkers, there's a new host acting this way, they appear to be "hawking" the products...the word often attributed to home shopping.

Some retailers take complaints very seriously, others don't. Guess which ones are still around after being in business for 50 - 100 years?

As to what gets removed and what doesn't, it is helpful to remember that this is a board that is run by a private company, and as such, their sandbox, their rules.

I expect, nay, I DEMAND that QVC constructs their programming to what *I* like and want! Everybody else's wants isn't as important as mine! *lol*

QVC is my Amazon.

I no longer watch shows, unless I briefly click by the channel when looking for something else to watch. The only shows I watched during the holidays were VPH, love her style.

I don't let a host sway me one way or the other, they don't have any power over me.

I make my decision based on the online description

If I don't like it, it goes back.

My beauty time consumption isn't from tv anymore, it's from youtube but not tv shopping channels even through their apps or web browsers.

There's a big variety of youtube beauty influencers that I watch - from millennials on to their 50s - and I will jump around and watch various videos for information and entertainment. That way there's none of the repetitiveness of a tv shopping network with endless shows about one or two product lines. I went back to bricks and mortar shopping in the past year and haven't looked back.

@RespectLife I heartily agree with you about voting with your dollars. I don't expect QVC to eliminate hosts or vendors because they may annoy some of us. However, I do think although we may be just a small group among their 95 million viewers, that QVC should take note when there are repeated complaints about certain behaviours that are turn offs. Right now there are 4 clothing vendors and at least 4 hosts that won't get a dime of my money. They're instant turn-offs for me. My life has a lot of aggravation in it and I certainly don't need to get my blood pressure up when watching a shopping channel. Admittedly, I buy 95% of my clothing from catalogues but that wasn't always the case. I loved QVC and spent thousands here but no longer. Sizing and quality has become inconsistent, the clothing is cookie-cutter, and the amount of time spent on TSVs is ridiculous.

I'm really not happy with prices and quality of merchandise. Much better prices in brick and mortar stores and you can see the quality of the merchandise. Really rethinking my shopping on QVC. And the shipping cost is horrendous!

But it seems to me that it is the same people complaining all the time! The repeated complaints are from the same posters. I get it...a poster does NOT like that host!

I can't expect the company to sideline a high sales volume host because we on the forums have issues.

TSV are heavily promoted and I don't have a problem with that. I would expect it to be repeated over and over. It is the item they are trying to mass sell that day.

I agree totally....sizing and quality has become the main issue I have with my purchases.

Hosts (even the ones I don't like) do not affect my online purchasing. Having to return an item that is clearly sized incorrectly is the single issue which declines my purchasing.

I do most of my shopping at the brick and mortar store anymore----and now you can order online and pick it up at the store. Got tired of the riduculous amounts of $$ to send stuff back---now I order online and pick it up at the store or just go there to actually try stuff on to see if it fits---what a concept-----plus no waiting for weeks to even get the stuff !!! And usually can get free shipping and returns. I do use AMZ all the time--------
