I appreciate your concern, however the sidewalks, etc., won't clear themselves. Gone are the days (at least in my neighborhood) when kids came by to ask to do shoveling, in order to earn money

Walks have to be cleared! As with everything go slowly no matter your age to avoid overtaxing your heart. You cannot quit doing anything for fear of health issues!

We're not doing it right now. It's still snowing. DH is recovering from surgery and I have a dog bite on the hand.

We have nowhere to go today or tomorrow and I'm hoping for a warm up. I have no community walk to be concerned about.

For some reason I keep thinking about KY Toby when I see this OP. KY may have pre-dated you, Mr.Sour, but he/she was reliably contrarian. Hasn't been around in awhile.

Many years ago I remember my brothers shovelling driveways to earn extra money. It was rare for homeowners to own anything other than a shovel to remove snow. Having a driveway plowed was never done. There are just as many hard-working kids today, including mine.

I know the feeling of having to get it done. I have COPD, but really only did mine with a push broom as we only got a coating, but was very winded when I got done. If only we could do a "do over" on our health.

We have a Snow Joe blower that's good for snow up to 6" or so. DH has done it but when it gets deeper we call someone who does landscaping in nice weather and snow removal in the winter...but he's expensive. It cost me $60.00 for him to get our drive & walkway shoveled out last year!

I've never ran a snow blower. I have a neighbor lady who does and that's what made me think of it. DH swears by Icy Hot, too. Hope your shoulder feels better soon. We are fortunate to have a 21 yr. old grandson that lives only 5 minutes away. He does the sidewalks and back porch. I wanted DH to let him do the whole driveway but DH was anxious to use his new snow blower. All the men in the neighorhood were comparing snow blowers. HA! Boys have their toys!
