So glad I'm not a QVC host after reading some of these blogs. Unbelievable how many people nitpick about such stupid stuff. If you have to criticize how about doing it constructively or not at all.

No reason to critize the hosts. They are people doing a job the way their employer wants them to. Of course they are not perfect, they are human.

This board is to provide information and general conversation not personal criticism. I'm sure not perfect, so I try not to be critical of others.

What a nice weekend with Dara and Jill. Think I could watch them 24/7. Of course, I had to try a few things ! And seldom buy when the other vendors are on. I love philosophy, the fragrance and how it makes my skin look. I do hope you will be able to have Jill and Dara do most of the presenting....and have them on more often.

What blogs? The host blogs? I've never read them, but it would seem that they could curtail that by deleting stuff from their own blog (not that I know a lot about blogs, as I haven't even visited a blog for some 10-15 years).

Our society, as a whole, has become extremely sensitive to any form of criticism. It seems many people can't wait to be offended in even the slightest manner so they can complain.

All my work experience involved dealing with the public, including sales. As anyone who works directly with the public knows, complaints are made, warranted or not. It's part of the job. Adults should understand. The supervisor certainly doesn't tell the client that their comments are unkind and to cease speaking, unlike what occurs here when a commentary is closed due to an "unkind" (?) remark! The customer should be treated respectfully and thanked, even if their complaint is ridiculous.

BTW, a complaint is not a remark about a person's appearance or about their personal lives! That is crossing the line.

All companies do an evaluation or a survey on their company and their employees and QVC is no different. The Moderators have told us constructive criticism and feedback is allowed, but unkind comments on hosts,vendors, models are not allowed and will be deleted.

So if you see an inappropriate comment ---report it-- and the Moderators will review it and make the decision on whether the comment is inappropriate and they will take care of it.

If there is something that makes customers watch and/or buy less, QVC wants to know about it.......Afterall they are a retail company and in business to sell products!

I agree that a host's personal life should generally be off limits (unless they continually harp about it on social media), but appearance?

No way. That is fair game. They chose a career in television in order to appear in front of a camera for all of us to view. It's all part of the agreement: you are on television and I see you.

The hosts are not required to read THE FORUMS.......And where the hosts write BLOGS its in a separate section of the website entirely. So if host's read THE FORUMS they do so at their own risk, and they aren't permitted to post on THE FORUM either........QVC can take FORUM comments and use them or not as they fit......

If anyone is really concerned about comments to hosts/vendors then direct your energy to the Host's Facebook Page, where customers do interact with the hosts and hosts respond back, (and may I add some of the hosts respond back as good as they get).....And people can contact QVC on its own Facebook Page to voice any concerns about comments on Host's Facebook Pages......

As someone who works in television, I absolutely agree with you. Anyone who appears on-air knows exactly what's involved. Being critiqued by the public - often unkindly - is part of the gig, no question about it. And the higher-ups want to know what the viewing audience is thinking.

Of course it's not necessary to be mean, but human nature is what it is and not all people are kind. That's a given. Anyone who is sensitive to criticism or easily hurt by comments made by strangers should not be in front of a camera. If they want the perks that go along with this type of job, then they should be prepared to accept all that goes with it.

You're right about appearance. I thought about it and changed my mind. Guess I was thinking about things like being over weight. Not everyone on the Q is an xxs, although some s t r e t c h the truth and claim that or xs is their size. More likely they are at least medium or large particularly in the hips.

Looking polished, and dressing professionally should be required. Appearing on air looking like they just rolled out of bed and didn't look in the mirror should not be permitted.
