Do you think QVC will stop accepting checks?

I wonder, now that QVC accepts PayPal, if they're planning to stop accepting checks. What do you think? I remember being shocked years ago that HSN did not accept checks.

I am probably one of the few people who still use paper checks..I am surprised the Q still accepts paper checks and I think they should continue because everyone doen't conduct their business online. I can see the Q accepting checks going forward just not paper but an E-check where the funds will come out of the account quicker.

I'm surprised they still accept them. I'm guessing they still accept them because most that use them go through with the purchase and the check doesn't bounce.

No idea - but they could - if it's less expensive for them to use Paypal or if too many people use worthless checks or if so few people use checks that it's not worth being set up to accept them.

I'd never heard that HSN does not accept checks, but I don't watch or buy there so it's not surprising that I didn't know.

I did not know they did take them. I feel much safer using Paypal or my credit card. Our mail has gotten worse over time and I would wonder if they got the check.

I know other shopping channels haven't in a long time.

Went for my annual physical today & there was a sign indicating "checks will no longer be accepted after 11/1/18". Interestingly, they never took cash so I assume it's cc/debit card.

I'm thinking the fees on "bad checks" is astronomical and chasing people is a pain.

I can't see why they should. My daughter worked in a retail shopping my town 10+ years ago, and they stopped accepting checks during her time there. It went over just fine. Customers just use other options.

i think they should stop taking paper checks in the mail and switch over to accepting online checks. buyers would have to input their routing number and account number when they are placing their orders.

i think more people use the check feature to "hold" items than they actually do to purchase items.

I am surprised they still accept checks. There are few retail stores that will accept checks. In addition, it is safer for the consumer to use debit, credit or paypal. The routing number and checking account on the checks is giving your account information not to mention your name and address etc.

I do my best to write the fewest amount of checks possible and have for years. Much safer to use other payment methods.

Once you make the switch you will find it much safer and easier all the way around.

We still use Checks to pay our monthly bills. We never use online banking don't trust our personal info being out there no matter how safe the bank says it is. If I buy something online I only use cc, not my debit card. And I'm very careful who I shop with online as well. You can never be too careful online or anywhere for that matter.

When you send a check in the mail your personal information is 'out there' in the real world for anyone who knows how to open an envelope to find. Online is way more safe. I don't even have checks anymore.

I'm surprised they still do because of the way checks are used to abuse the system. People order by check then wait for reviews before making a final decision. That mercandise is in limbo while others in line are waiting for it.

People do put things on check to wait for reviews. They used to hold the item for 10 days for your check to get to them and then they would ship.

All that changed though. They do not hold check items anymore. I have seen many people surprised to find their item is cancelled after sending in a check. If it sells out, check buyers lose out.

It ties up inventory to put something on check hold while someone waits to decide if they really want it. QVC saw that. In days gone by, online shopping was not half as safe, or easy as it is now, so they continued letting people check hold, because they really had no idea if the purchase was going to be a real sale or not.

Now that a computer is available in almost every household now, I don't blame QVC for not setting aside a check order and holding it. There are so many ways to buy, it is not to their advantage to have orders set aside.

I do think they are going to go to e-check eventually. Most stores that take checks now just hand the check right back to you because they use e-check.

Sign of the times I guess.
