Rick's glasses

I noticed Rick is now wearing glasses. I am not a particular fan of them. My darling sister called and also said they were not flattering. What do people think ? I believe since he has blonde hair a wire framed pair of glasses would be more suitable.

@Reever, why does it matter??? If he likes them, he’s the one who has to wear them! I don’t think you should be so judgmental. Sheesh.

OK I am old but I still think he is a doll with or without his glasses. I love when a person is not too vain to wear glasses on tv or be themselves. Kudos to self confidence in ones self!!!

Glasses - totally surprised at his selection. Dorky - school teacher look - would have thought he'd pick something...............cooler

Hair change? - poor guy doesn't have much to work with. Hair today - Gone tomorrow are the sad facts of life.

Thank goodness I do not have a job where my appearance not performance is judged by the public. I would not last a day. False eyelashes are a luxary to try to improve looks (which many hosts wear HEAVY eyelashes now) ~~this is a personal choice. Eyeglasses are not necessarily a personal choice but needed to SEE. Contacts can't always be worn (Ulcers etc can prevent wearing them along with other issues), surgery is not always an option to correct vision which leaves some having to wear glasses at times. If I do not like someone's selling techniques I channel it but to judge a person's ability to see (and the fact they have on glasses) is troubling in what the world has come to. Sorry if I am offending anyone but can remember children in grade school being made FUN of for wearing glasses. NOT COOL!!

I think they look just fine. Thick frames are what is in trend now. You should see mine. Heavy tortoise frames with prominent horns. Dorky librarian look and I love them.

Having watched him a short while ago with the TSV presentation, at first blush, wasn't sure who I was looking at (first few seconds, as the gentleman from Amazon was speaking). Then I realized it was Rick D.

Honestly, those glasses gave his face a pinched look. The frames were entirely too thick and small for his face and why black? He's so fair and his hair blonde. To me, made no sense and entirely changed his looks to the negative side of the line.

Don't get me wrong: I like Rick and always have. Don't care for this one, though. Please, Rick, re-do the peepers.

As others have stated, the trend right now is dark, heavy glasses. Some people look better in them than others. I recently had to get new glasses and was not happy with the selection. I’ll suffer with them until the styles change again. I usually wear navy blue but it was too dark and overwhelming on me in the new styles. I decided to go with a lighter color.

So school teachers are dorky? Is that the take away from your statement? It's Rick's face and he can wear whatever he wants. Why should he or anyone else have to pass insprction? He, or any other host, doesn't need the approval of anyone watching a show. It's a job, that's all. The only approval they need is the approval of their boss. If it's within the rulebook of the company, it's okay.

Imagine if each one of us could be viewed by the others!!! Just think of how we would be picked apart. OMG to have the screen come on and there someone would sit with a new hair style and the comments would start! Or, to see each other with maybe dollar store glasses and someone calling us out on it. We would be judged on our color of lipstick, eye shadow, etc. Really?

Who cares and since when are we each so perfect we can criticize another?

There is not one person on these boards who is perfect. I can promise you that. So try to be kind to others today. It will make you feel good.

I'm glad that when Rick knew he needed glasses, he had the confidence to wear them. He'll wear what feels comfortable, I'm sure.

Rick looked just fine with his glasses. Different, but fine. It wouldn't even occur to me to comment on them. As long as I can see his eyes and they are not those distracting big things that another host wears on the tip of her nose so you cannot see half her face....but I digress.

My guess is that his eyes were irritated and he couldn't wear his contacts for the show.
