      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;I received a package of two identical cosmetic items (sold as a duo), which included the note pictured below.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;I have no complaint about QVC doing random QA inspections.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;My issue is that I don't know &lt;U&gt;which&lt;/U&gt; of the two containers was opened.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;Why is that a big deal?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;Because many cosmetics are sealed in such a way that they will keep until the container is opened and the product is exposed to the air, and at that time the clock starts ticking toward eventual product degradation.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;The duo I purchased will likely last me several years, so if the manufacturer's vacuum seal on one was broken in a QA inspection, I'd like to know I'm using from that one first.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;By not knowing which was opened by QA, it's possible I may find the second one turns 'bad'&amp;nbsp; while just sitting on my shelf.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;Has anyone else received a note saying their item was inspected?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="lucida sans unicode,lucida sans" size="3" color="#000000"&gt;&lt;IMG src="https://community.qvc.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/125427iE40E541D514DA7ED/image-size/original?v=1.0&amp;amp;px=-1" border="0" alt="IMG_20180622_120939_hdr.jpg" title="IMG_20180622_120939_hdr.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;They should NOT be opening cosmetics or skin care that ships to a customer.&amp;nbsp; They should open random samples and then sell them AS IS.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Unless they are giving you that item at no cost to you, I would send it back and make sure the S&amp;amp;H is on them. They need to do QA on their own dime, not the customers.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

If only one pkg was opened and you opened the other and it had a secured seal, I'm thinking the one that was opened had the seal removed unfortunately.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;I'd also be wondering why the 'inspector' would even take a safety seal off of a product regardless what the product is. If the 'Inspector' took it off what's s/he looking for? Would s/he even know what to look for?       <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#000000"&gt;These don't have an inner seal&amp;nbsp; &lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/97857"&gt;@PINKdogWOOD&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#000000"&gt;They are as I wrote.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#000000"&gt;I don't have a problem with the absence of an inner seal, generally.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#000000"&gt;I think cosmetics manufacturers use whatever option is best for each product.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#000000"&gt;In the past, I've received glass vials (cosmetics) that were vacuum sealed, and I could hear a tiny hiss of air as I first opened the container.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#000000"&gt;I also think cosmetic containers are sometimes filled and sealed in a room with filtered, dried, purified air.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#000000"&gt;In either case, no inner seal would be needed unless the item was intended to be on display somewhere that a customer could open random containers.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

My item happened to be a cosmetic, but my thread is about their QA inspection program. My concern would apply equally to other perishables like foods, &amp;amp; garden plants.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#000000"&gt;The poster upthread who mentioned getting this inspection slip (which I'd never seen or read of before this) with a garment made it clear this isn't new, it's just new to me.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
