Shipping Rates are Ridiculous!

I know this is discussed ad nauseam, but QVC shipping rates are outrageous and do not make sense. I just added a pair of Women with Control pants and a product from Laura Geller to my shopping cart and the combined shipping was over $9 (for two items that probably don't even weigh a pound combined!) I promptly removed the items from my cart and will go elsewhere to buy these items.

QVC is one of the only online vendors that does not offer some sort of shipping deal (either a flat shipping rate, free shipping after spending a certain amount, or free shipping for valued customers). Many times I am tempted to buy items from the Q, but then change my mind. I know I am not alone and that more people would buy from the Q if the shipping was free, or at least reasonable!!!!

Shipping is increasingly a deal breaker. Paying full retail and high shipping is just not necessary. There are too many options out there and they really need to learn that lesson quickly unless they want to be the shopping venue of last resort.

As long as you don't want EXACTLY what QVC is selling, you sometimes can find a product for less money that will do just as well.

I do buy from the Q, but when I look at my order list, there's nothing on it in the past several years that I could buy elsewhere. I'm also fortunate to be able to buy what I want instead of having to chase elsewhere to find something that will do. I had to do just that for many years of my life.

Most of what I've bought recently is either available only at the Q or only at the Q in the size or color or some detail I care about. Now that I buy fewer and fewer items, the shipping just doesn't bother me the way it would if I bought often or bought things in multiples.

One thing I do wish is that posters would be more exact about where they can buy the EXACT product elsewhere for less total money or, at the very least, be upfront about how the cheaper item is different.

If there is something I want on QVC I immediately look to Amazon for it. Or, even EBay. Kohl's has tons of 30% off coupons, and free shipping coupons. We have so many more options online now - it's just great!! Really, I seldom buy from QVC anymore.

I still buy from QVC, but only something truly unique that I can't find elsewhere.

(Just HOW is them charging $5 to ship a pair of earrings a fair price? They have lost their minds!)

There are many online retailers that have as high or higher shipping rates but I've found if I search, I can usually find a "deal" for free shipping or a discount that will cover the shipping.

Usually shipping costs don't make a difference to me when ordering but when QVC has clearance items and the shipping and handling is nearly as much as the item then I won't order.

I just came from a UPS center.....I returned a ring to QVC.....small package...cost...$8.61..my mail service is so poor...I don't trust them....

I had an envelope that needed to be sent to Le Roy N.Y.....two sheets of paper in it...so not heavy....and not very large....$11.36....

Neither were special handling...just going ground....

I should think QVC would get better rates....but maybe not by much...who knows...

I rarely purchase from the Q due to their slow service and high costs to ship. I am an Amazon Prime member, so I do most of my shopping there. Prices are lower and free shipping.

Amazon shipping is NOT free if you have Prime. You have simply paid in advance to cover your shipping. They get the use of your money before you purchase anything and if you buy enough from them, it turns out to be a good deal. If you don't, then it isn't. I have it and it has worked to my advantage not theirs - sounds like the same may be true for you but a lot of people lose money or Amazon wouldn't continue to do it.

I also have Amazon prime. The cost is so worth it to me.
I know in no time I can spend that much for shipping at QVC.

I ordered two Perfect Jersey Denim & Co tops in one order, then ordered a different one in a separate order -- all shipped on the same day, but the single one shipped separately. For the three items, which probably weigh a total 1-1/2 pounds at most and can be shipped in plastic envelopes, I'm paying $14.30 shipping by UPS.

BTW, has anyone seen the news this morning that FedEx is going to start charging by package size instead of just weight - and that UPS may follow suit? Which will make shipping rates go even higher and may affect all the free online shipping.

It may save me a lot of money, because I'm having a hard time swallowing what shipping on these 3 items is costing me--I can't get these particular pieces/colors anywhere else. But I am starting to be very picky about what I do order.

I did see the story about the Fed Ex going to charge more....I blame companies who put small items in huge boxes...there is a story here today about a D&B handbag in an oversized box..I know when I ship UPS they always take measurements and charge accordingly....

QVC just ripped me off. Since I'm going to be away I ordered a jacket and paid almost $10 to have it sent priority mail. I ordered the jacket a week ago. Today I received a message saying I'd receive the package in about two weeks. This is a priority shipment? Fortunately I put a hold on my mail so it will be held at the post office...unless QVC goofs and sends it UPS, in which case that package will announce my absence by sitting at my front door. This is unacceptable!

I agree about the shipping rates but I'm really getting fed up with the TIME it takes to ship a product.My orders sit and sit for days without shipping. I get so fed up I cancel everything !

I shop Amazon get free shipping and get it the very next day!!!
