I want to say that I think this stuff really did help my arthritis in my knee. I have been taking this, with glucosamine ,at my Drs. suggestion.

That is the good news . The bad news is I quit taking this. I have felt ill for 2 weeks, and thought it was my Thyroid meds that were doing it. I just felt so bad with a headache, and upset stomach. I wish I could take this, but it just doesn't work with my digestive system.

For those of you that want to try it, I would recommend you take it with food.

My husband is going to give it a try, to see if it will work for him

Have you tried seasoning your food with Tumeric? The seasoning is suppose to work better than the capsules from what I've heard. I don't know if there is a recommended amount you are suppose to use daily. I recently bought a jar and roasted some cauliflower with oil, salt, pepper and tumeric and it was delicious. Hopefully I will have some relief from inflammation soon! I'm trying to incorporate it on a daily basis. At the very worst, I have a new spice to play with.

I also tried glucosamin and had pretty intense digestive problems. Perhaps it's not the tumeric capsules.

Open the capsule and sprinkle only about 1/3 - 1/2 of it on your food and mix it in well. That's what I do with my morning cereal. You can close the capsule back up so you don't waste it.

Taking a whole capsule causes me internal grief too - my esophogus and stomach feel like they are burning. So I go the partial route and I'm good. Give it a try.

Or, if you can find them, try turmeric TABLETS. I had no trouble with tablets. I used to buy them at CostCo but the company that makes them has also gone to capsules.

If you think it is a digestive issue, have you tried probiotics? I ask this because I have a problem digesting some foods and the probiotics really help - and recently when I went through two bouts of dental surgery, the doctor put me on antibiotics. The first time, I had issues, but the second time when I took the probiotics, I had none of those issues.

Might be worth a try.

One thing I've had a problem with with medication is sometimes the "filler" ingredients cause me problems. The pharmacist has ordered my medication from another manufacturer if it's generic and every time, it fixes my issue.

I had this problem especially with BCPs. When I was on the brand, I had no issues. When they switched me to the generic, I had the worst GI problems. I moved back to the brand at the direction of the pharmacist, and my problems resolved over night.

Hyaluronic acid capsules also work well for osteoarthritis, and don't irritate the tummy like tumeric can.

Check Amazon for brands, prices, and user reviews.

It's recommended that people take any supplement, o.t.c. med, or RX med. with a bit of food and/or some milk, especially if you have GERD or a tendency towards heartburn or indigestion.

Unless it's indicated on the label that the efficacy would be greatly diminished.
