I studied reflexology and actually was able to practice the art on the public. After much practice and feed back from clients, I came to the conclusion that it was a wonderful form of relaxation and any physical benefit was short lived at best.

I've been reading up on reflexology and it's so interesting. Our feet have a lot to do with our full body health. Anyway, wanted to pass along something for those that suffer from restless leg syndrome. My massage therapist told me that the soles of our feet absorb differently (better) than skin on other parts of our body. I had some Magnesium Oil which I'd purchased last year for RLS and applied to my legs as instructed. Not much success, so I put it away. A week ago, I got it back out and began applying it to the soles of my feet every night and have slept like a baby. I used to struggle for two and three hours every night with leg cramps, etc. I hope the results last.

I've had two reflexology sessions. I have neuropathy in my toes from chemo. It felt good while being done. One of the places also does acupuncture on the feet. I want to try that.

I prefaced the treatment with the fact that the reflexology was to meant to relax them so their body could better accept the treatment they were receiving from their doctors. I didn't want them to think the reflexology was going cure anything, I don't believe it does IMO. Yes, people did get relief from issues like aches and pains and it was a terrific tension reliever. I had so many people wanting reflexology for sinus problems, I would do the treatment and then sell them a neti pot.LOL

I like reflexology because I don't really like massages. I've tried full body massages three times and it's just not for me. I've done it in physical therapy and high end spas and I just don't care for it. Can't get into facials either. And one of the reasons I don't get the Signature Manicure at Red Door is because it comes with a massage (which I always made them skip before switching to a different manicure).

But reflexology I love. I will say, the best I've ever had was in Sedona, AZ at a small shop. Best night of sleep I ever had in my life.

I don't particularly care for the accupuncture version that was included with my last session, but regular reflexology without that is great.

I love reflexology better than any other type of massage (been having all sorts of massage all over the world for 50 years). For the last three years I have had hour sessions of reflexology whenever and wherever I can. Really solved my plantar facetious issue but otherwise I do it for relaxation. I also love that it is so inexpensive (in CA and Vegas $20 to $30 an hour plus $10 tip). Most practitioners are Chinese and speak minimal English.

True, these treatments may not work for everybody but either does modern medicine.

My Blue Cross Health Insurance . and many others now pay for acupuncture treatments and have been paying for Chiropractic care for years. It probably won't be long until Medicare will pick this up as well.
