Has Anyone Had Botox Injected for OAB?

OAB = Overactive Bladder

I'm curious if it worked well and how painful it is to have the injections into the bladder. Gives me the shivers just typing that😳

When I was getting a root canal done the dental assistant was telling me that her mom had and it worked well. Sorry, I don't know anything about the pain.

After using anesthesia to numb your bladder, your urologist will make small injections in the bladder wall, where the bladder muscle is located -Your urologist can do this either in the hospital or in his or her office -The entire process can take less than an hour

My dad had this done and it really didnt help him. Then again he had dememta and very painful knees. He also said he didnt realize he was going he didnt feel anything till he was wet.

@cherry, did you have it done or just know about the procedure? An hour is a long time under those circumstances😳

I had it done a few times (in the urologist's office). My personal experience was no response to the shots. They were expensive too. There's no pain unless you are one who simply can't stand being pricked with a needle. The local anesthetic numbs the bladder before the Botox is injected. The doctor doesn't numb you then inject the Botox immediately. There is a wait time before the Botox is injected. My doctor waited about 10-to-15 minutes. Being cynical, he probably saw another patient while I was waiting, and if so that's fine. The time may vary, but each time I was in the office for about an hour. My timing factors in from the moment I disrobe to being told it was ok to get dressed and leave.
