topic Diverticulosis in Wellness

Hi everyone. My DH has diverticulosis and also takes levothyroxine for his thyroid which makes him constipated at times. This past Monday he had a very slight flare-up with the diverticulosis that did not need hospitalization. He did see his regular doc that prescribed levofloxacin which is an antibacterial. He tries to eat plenty of fiber foods and drink lots of water. He has tried Activia but he is not a big yogurt person. Is there anything else he can try? Probiotics in pill form? If so, how much? TIA
