topic Hospital Facility Charge??????? in Wellness

Recently, I saw a new doctor for an initial office consultation. I have an insurance co-pay, which I paid at the time of the visit.

I just received a bill in the mail and called to ask what it was for. Apparently, because this doctor's office is located within the hospital, I have been charged a co-pay for "use of the hospital facility". Huh???? Have any of you ever heard of this? Well I called my insurance company and they verified that the hospital has the option and right to do this (I was never advised of this when I set up my appointment! ).

So this is just a heads up to everyone that if you ever see a doctor whose office is inside a hospital building, you should always ask if there will be a charge for the hospital facility. Unfortunately, I really like this doctor but will most likely not continue with him because of this inane policy. I think I will write a letter to the hospital administrators about it to see what they say.
