Autoimmune Disease sufferers

I just read this book. It is totally up to date and well worth the read. I read from start to finish and am now again reading what is pertinent to my own issues so that I know them by heart. I'm bringing it to my next doctor's appointment.

I ordered it from Amazon last month. Took a while to get it because it wasn't in stock yet. However, it is now in stock.

It is geared toward women. I highly recommend it.

I just downloaded it. My mom suffered with polymyocitis in her last years, passed at 63, and my sister suffers with itchy excema and she is the healthiest eater in the world. Can't wait to dig in!

I read almost the whole thing last night and the rest of it this morning. I am now going back over the issues I need to address my own many AI diseases.

Let me know what you think, MaggieMack. And my best to you and your sister. Your beloved mom was too young to die. I am so sorry. My own mom died at 49 from lung cancer, so I know well how deprived you feel.

@LilacTree, thank you for your kind thoughts. My mom actually passed from lung cancer, too, after many years of a depressed immune system. There is a nagging little voice in my that says she passed because she never "had a voice." I do! But, yes, I was 38 and grieved the loss of my best friend. And awesome human being! Fortunately, I resemble her more than I resemble the man who took her voice.

I feel so foolish for beating myself up for years... Strange symptoms, etc.

After telling myself that the way my health goes is "all in my head" this book explains so much❤️

OMG! Please get yourself tested. If it's possible RA, those tests would be within that chapter (the first chapter). In fact all of the diseases have chapters that indicate what tests should be done.

@LTT1, don't you just love the feeling when the lightbulb explodes in a spray of knowledge in your head?! So happy that things are falling into place for you. I bought the book to see if I could get some insight for my sister, but I'm only to the RA chapter. Hope things continue to coalesce for you!

@LilacTree... Almost every year I have gotten tested (RA/ANA antibodies, etc) However, since I have been going to my INT Med Dr almost exclusively in the past year, I need to remind him. Thanks!
