I am vegan so I make a little different version of a smoothie in the morning. My favorite is tarte cherry juice, chocolate vegan protein powder, frozen pitted sweet cherries, amazing grass or similar product, matcha tea powder, spinach, chia seeds and ice. It packs a pretty health punch with about 2 fruits and about 5 vegetables, 25 grams of protein.

I mix up the fruits and will substitute the cherry juice for almond milk or coconut water and may use vanilla or unflavored protein powder, but I keep the other ingredients pretty constant. The matcha gives me a little kick start in the morning.

I put Hemp protein powder in my smoothies. It is by Foods Alive and I get it at Amazon. It is green but has no taste. You need 2 T of it per drink. I use 1 T myself. It is raw, non GMO , no soy or whey. I would add maybe chia seeds or flax seeds for more nutrition. I use my Nutri bullet and everything gets blended nicely.

This is often my breakfast of choice during the hot summer months. I used to use protein powder in my smoothies and then a lightbulb went off. I looked at how much protein was in the milk and yogurt I was putting in my smoothies and that is enough for me. Also, the Greek yogurt has a lot more protein than regular yogurt so I don't see the need to add any powder. Sometimes I make a peanut butter and banana smoothie and by adding some peanuts (or peanut butter), that is protein, also. In the fall, I make pumpkin smoothies...canned pumpkin, vanilla yogurt, cinnamon, walnuts, maybe a little agave syrup. There again, the walnuts add extra protein. Hope this helps!

DH uses ground flax and chia daily. We buy Jay Robb whey isolate in vanilla and silk coconut milk. This has dropped his cholesterol 150 points in a month. His Dr. Said 5 T ground flax and 3 T chia pet day. He splits it between two protein shakes per day.

I have a smoothie every morning I use IVL fruit flavored all day energy greens and in the afternoon I use the IVL go ruby go for an energy boost. I tried a protein powder but it gave my drink a odd taste that I didn't like. Do all Whey powders have a flavor or taste? Does anyone know if I need to add protein to my smoothie I use 1/2 C milk, fresh fruit, frozen banana and ice? Any suggestions would be most apprecited.
